Most of it just flows through me. I know I pull a lot from bands like Pink Floyd and Sting... as well as artists like Tommy Emmanuel. I love listening to new music and doing my take on it.

I get my lyrics from emotions for sure. I never really write chord progs...(cause 5ths aren't technicall a chord I THINK??)
Riffs and licks, not a clue where i get them from, i think if you just sit down and play long enough you will allways find something kool...
Then i just TAB it out and when i need a riff or w/e for a song i go look in "the book of riffs" and see if one works pretty well if it doesn't quite fit I'll tweak it

5ths aren't a chord (they are an interval), but add a 3rd to them and they are a chord. 5ths are tonaly ambiguous, because they could either be major or minor, and their tonality depends on their position in the major scale. The way I look at it, 5ths are a chord, but with the 3rd omitted to give a more powerful sound, so they can still be analysed like regular chords. A sequence of 5ths is therefore a sequence of chords, ie, a chord progression.

Back to the thread though, I think I take all of my stylistic influence from the artists I listen to, and I don't listen to an artist unless it moves me in some way. I think a little bit of influence can be picked up from pretty much any form or genre of music though. I don't write lyrics so the thing about feelings and emotion are kinda lost on me. A guitar part can still have a lot of feeling and emotion though (Carlos Santana = awesome!)
