Since we are already on the grammar train, these are big pet peeves of mine, since they are taught as something like the third grade level:

they're = they are
their = possession
there = location

you're = you are
your = possession

If 8-year-olds can do this, so can everyone else. >.

And they are horribly smug,untalented,and have pretentious
lyrics.

Never really thought of them as any of those things... since well, I don't actually know them in person and just am a fan of their music :)

EDIT:
@Btimm

Same here dude... I suspect that if you text, you also type full sentences? XD

HA! Most of the time I do text full sentences. There are exceptions, but it's rare. It does bother me when other people can't write their text messages in such a manner that I can actually comprehend what they're trying to say. XD

I personally don't mind the "hipster" bands, it's the actual hipster's themselves that I can't stand.
Mostly because they scoff at my Megadeth and Metallica t-shirt collection XD haha

haha another reason I don't mind Radiohead is because of all the conspiracy theory stuff behind their albums. Like Ok Computer and In Rainbows being released exactly 10 years apart, each albums name has 10 letters, etc.

@AlexB a repressed memory is something your mind gets you to forget kinda like a mental self defence.

I've never listened to radiohead...or maybe I have and they're just so bad my minds blocked it out :P

I don't have anything against Radiohead(never really listened to them) though on band that is probably just a notch below Nirvana in my book would have to be Slipknot(one of those repressed memory things--I forgot about them for a minute!)

Also, AiC rocks \m/

Radiohead is one of those bands that can put s h i t in a bottle and can sell it to their fans,and they praise it as unique,larger-than-life,no mainstream art that only a few illuminated can understand.

The best example is their latest video,Lotus Flower,if you put a retarded guy dancing to a repetitive lame beat and upload it to youtube,you will get a sad viral video,if Radiohead uploads it,its post modern art that can only be appreciated by those who have not been infected by the mainstream virus,Thom Yorke is a God that has come to save us all from the lame mainstream dream we all live in.

Still doubt it? read the comments of their fan base in this video

Again,Radiohead,Hipster bands,The Beatles and Dream Theater have the lamest fanbase ever,no offense to anyone of course.

Elaine from Seinfeld dances better than that guy...

I'm going to ammend(sp?) another lame fanbase--metalcore!
Asking Alexandria...ummm...well...anyone in that genre really. It's like their fans don't appreciate anyone that can actually play the guitar WELL(I've gotten the evil eye from quite a few of them before because I "shred")

Well its kinda like taht justin bieber thing on youtube.Look on any metal or rock vid that has dislikes,and some idiot will say""oh,justin bieber musta made 500 accounts to dislike this,God
I hate justin bieber""When in reality,hes bringing up justin
bieber in a metal comment section.

Beside,Nirvana pioneered grunge,which along with
blackk sabbath,helped pave the way for doom metal.
plus they were versatile
Listen to lake of fire, I t has greatful dead-ish folk tendencies
Smells like teen spirit is the ultimate pop song that definez the 90's
All apologies can relay the message that every teen kid
feels at one time or another.
They have made there mark in history.

Sorry, Nirvana did NOT pioneer grunge. That's just false. They were media darlings and that's it. Also "Lake of Fire" is a cover.

Never said it wasnt a cover,just said what it sounded like,and that it was a great song. And if you would be so kind as to point out who did pioneer the 90's seattle grunge,i would be most greatful.

(edit) thinking further into this discussion,I think
that its ignorant for me to say nirvana pioneered it
alone.There was alot of other bands like green river
the melvins,skinyard,and soundgarden who like
nirvana,helped pave the way for its popularity.But
Nirvana should get credit,and be categorized in
the ranks as one of the founding fathers of 90's
grunge revolution.Imo.

Black Sabbath didn't pave the way for doom metal, they paved the way for metal, period. I don't care about Blue Cheer, or Mountain, or Zeppelin, when you look at the influences of any metal band around today, they'll say Black Sabbath.

As for the Nirvana thing, I agree with BBT.

In my personal, uneducated opinion, I like them. The music was pretty good for the most part. With Kurt becoming one of the "rock martyrs" though its just gotten blow out of proportion. I think the only member out of that band I really liked was Dave Grohl. Christ was always getting political and calling out other bands and he just got annoying. As for Kurt, great songwriter, decent singer, great artist. He didn't suck, so drop it already.

Radiohead is like beer. You have to aquire the taste. On the whole Nirvana thing. They are a good band and all but, Kurt's death blew everything out of proportion. And when you want to listen to lyrics about what we go through as teens, ill stick to The Smiths....

yo. super huge radiohead fan here. oh my god i LOVE everything they do!!!!!

except that newest album.

i, honestly, don't even know what it's called. "in rainbows" was brilliant. want to hear a funny anecdote? "everything in its right place", an off-shoot track from "kid A" was #4 most played on the jukebox at the college bar i drank/worked at for 3 years.

it wasn't a single, it was just an anthem for that bar!

but i digress. I ***ING LOVE RADIOHEAD.

and that new album sucks. i don't even know the name of that album. "in rainbows" was brilliant. this new one?

boo.

BUT THE POINT IS, i am expressing the thoughts of all of my radiohead fan friends. all of my college friends? nobody likes that album.

SO don't use that as some example about "blind fans" who follow their bands into ****. i don't know a single person who likes that album!

I will have to look more into it, but definitely Soundgarden, they go way back. Malfunkshun is another pioneer of that era. Let me go and think for a few and get back to you, Nirvana came onto that scene pretty late in the ball game. They may have helped make it mainstream, but they aren't even close to a founding father. Pearl Jam was around for a while before it blew up too. Obviously Mother Love Bone was a big part, although very short-lived.

Now don't get me wrong - I actually do like some Nirvana songs myself, believe it or not. I simply think they are vastly overrated. Their cover of "Oh Me" is simply amazing. Some other really great tunes are "On a Plain", "Negative Creep", and "Heart-Shaped Box". You can be both good and overrated.

Kind of like led zepplin xD.

Dr.martin luther king jr. came into the segragation
game pretty late,but made a huge difference,does that make him overrated?Abraham lincoln was the pioneer of it,so does that mean
mlk jr. shouldnt get any credit for finishing the job?

same as nirvana,they may not have been there since the beggining,but
they made there mark on the scene,popularizing it to
the masses,So i think they should get alittle more respect
Imo.
