It's not worth logging in just to argue with someone in my opinion. I don't take any kind of negative criticism or insult from a web site to seriously because as soon as you log out it's gone. I like this site because there's not many bad vibes going around. If someone says something you don't like or agree with just let it go.

I agree that some country is kinda off the wall and stupid, but can you name a type of music that doesn't have some ridicules songs that fall into it's catagory?

just so everyone knows I'm not trying to be a prick just stating a point...lol

true, but to every style of music, not just country and rap, there just poor music. acctually thts not even true. how about the ppl who sing it and make it. ther was a guy once singing about him loving his tracktor. it turned out to be a hit. some ppl just like tht stuff. kinda like monster trucks nd stuff. thers always a person or ppl who like it. and thts o.k. as i sayd everyones entitled to ther own opinion. look at our president, he goes to war, and doesnt support stem cell reserch and stuff like tht, but thts his own retarted opinion. i can name a few more, but im risking one of u guys likes him.

Skold says:
- Excuse me, Terrance.
- Yes, Phillip?
*FARTS*
- Good one. Cheers.
- Cheers, fuck-face.

But I get that cuz it's from South Park. Which is on TV. Therefore, not in print.

"Also, I figured that since my joke about the style of Country was so un-true, people would have understood that it was a joke."

I've seen a lot of people be crazy biased on the internet, and they're actually for serious, so I could believe someone would say that.

What what a response, and a little fight.

i have been very discouraged by modern rock and looking for something new and good. I want the next great guitar player, you know like hendrix or SRV. I really can't find it. I figured it was a sign of getting old (ripe old age of 32) and remember how my folks either listened to country or oldies. I never would have thought that would be me!

I have done some listening to country and it is very mainstreamed and forced to be what it is. but i also have noticed a few things, some of the songs are really witty and they make fun of them selves when they are not singing ballads. I think sometimes people take themselves too seriously.

yes and the telecaster is a great guitar.

What about Hank Jr. I like a lot of his music and he really gets into the guitar in a few of his songs. He is border line southern rock in my opinion, he is going to be at the Skynyrd concert I am going to next month.

I think there is a pretty thin line between country and southern rock. and as time goes on i think the line gets even thinner. I think that back in the day when Skynyrd was alive and kicking there was a big difference.

ok i like it all. i just like goodtunes hence the name.

@telecrater i go through different stages where i like one style nore than the other but if you wanna listen to a kewl "country" singer that i like you gotta listen to Robert Earl Keen. esp his "the party never ends" cd.

No Country music no rock n roll. Memphis is the cradle of rock. It sits essentially in the middle of America. Blue grass rolled down out of the mountains, colliding with the blues coming up the river from the delta and moving over from Texas, along with Texas swing. There was probably also an echo coming back from Chicago where the blues was electrified in the 40's by the likes of Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf.. All come together in Memphis producing something different but something that kept pieces of all those genres. No country, no rock... And yes, some of those country boys can really play.
