this is the root of a G, or a sliding A how ever you look at this note, note you only need to play the 3 strings to produce these chords in this set of "pianos"

e--------------------------
b---2----2-----2-----1-----
g---2----2-----3-----2-----
d---2----3-----2-----2-----
a--------------------------
e--------------------------

ok for the root notes, that is to play only 1 string to figure out the chord you need to apply play

e------------------x
b-------------x----2
g--------x----2----x
d---x----3----x-----
a---3----x----------
e---x---------------

dont forget the first rule of music, that is all notes are half steps. b and c are directly next to eachother and so is e and f... they are both half steps apart, where the rest have the black keys on piano sharp/flats. on guitar the black keys=1 fret, and white keys=1 fret soooo.... the e strings like this...

E--0---1----2----3----4----5----6----7---8
==e==f==f#==g==g#==a==a#==b==c
and so on since each string is its own piano going an octive up at fret 12

E---8----9---10---11---12
==c==c#==d==d#==E

and all the strings down the line follow these rules with the singular string piano.

A---1---2---3---4---5---6
==a#==b==c==c#==d so on...
