My name is Randy. I've been playing for about 30 years but the first 20 years I just played metal. I grew up on the old bands from Sabbath to early Metallica. But the past 10 years I got into church so I had to learn different styles. I know BORING!! Until I got a new director from Indiana Bible College. Then I got into learning chord extensions ( 7th, 9th, 11th & 13ths). It opened up a new way of expressing. I still play fast and heavy but now my leads are full of classical or jazz sounding licks.

HI Randy,
Welcome to the forum. Hanging out here should give you plenty of reasons to attend church on Sundays! LOL
Seems to me if you've been playing for 30 years you'll have plenty to contribute. Glad to have ya here!

This is not so much of an introduction, but more of a re-introduction. I used to post here fairly frequently, but sort of tailed off. I also stopped playing guitar for a bit, but now am back into playing more and back into posting more.

Hey there everybody

My name is Eric, and I am 18 years old. I have been playing guitar for almost 4 years, and I am still trying to find my own style. I listen to a bunch of music, mostly indie rock, classic rock, and post rock. I have been to this site many times over the years but finally decided to join the forums.

Hi there,
Erik here. I've been playing bass almost thirty years, and guitar half that...um...but you'd never know it to listen to me. So I'm at the beginning and willing to learn. I love music, all kinds as long as their good ;) metal, jazz, techno, punk, funk, ska, you know better than I.

I just found the site looking for some chord review and thought I'd join in.

Happy winter from North America!

Some of these posts seem like an AA meeting, but for people addicted to guitar. So it's like a GA meeting. Guitarists Anonymous.

Hello, my names Luthier, and I've been a guitar addict for 5 years.

Hello,

Just joined and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Tim and I mainly just jam out on my acoustic. I've been surrounded by music my whole life and never had any talent for it until finally I realized it was never just about talent. Now I want to learn everything I can about music and cant wait to learn what I can from this forum.

hahaha I love the name "MoreCowBell" !!!!!!!!!!!
You're off to a good start.
Welcome to Mr Roger's neighborhood!
We have some very good lessons here (some very new) AND some very talented members here who are always happy to answer questions so make yourself at home (but keep your pants on please).
I will admit I'm addicted to my acoustic too. I have a very nice fender tele and I hardly pick the thing up. (I'm too lazy to plug it in and flip the switch) I just like the rich sound of an acoustic I guess.

What up. I've just been looking at the cords section on the site. Been looking for a place to talk about music, improve, and clash.

I really don't like metal of any sort, if it is good music I will appreciate it to the point where I like it. I'll listen to anything once and regret it twice.

I stuff I regularly listen to is stuff in between the beatles and L'Arc~en~ciel. I don't care where it came from. Just make sure it's good music.
