Here's my list. I was listening to the Sinner from Unleashed in the East last night and decided I would listen to the whole album. Then I thought of what would be my top 5.

1. Kiss Alive
While I'm not a huge Kiss fan, the Kiss Alive album is by far my favorite. I was looking at a lot of "top live album" lists on the internet and this Kiss album shows up in almost everyone.

2. Judas Priest - Unleashed in the East
As a young metal guitarist there was nothing better to play along with than this album. Pretending I was KK Downing or Glen Tipton.

3. UFO - Strangers in the Night
UFO was at the top of their game on this tour. My favorite epic solo is also on this album. Michael Schenker takes you on a Journey with his solo on Rock Bottom.

4. Deep Purple - Made in Japan
Highway Star, Child in Time, Space Truckin, Lazy. I like to play along with this one too.

5. Rush - All the World's a Stage
3 dudes in 1976 producing sound like an orchestra. This is an epic album that you have to sit and actively listen to. I can't play this one in it's entirety as background music.

What are yours and why?

I've never been a huge fan of live albums. I think that is probably a product of being born in 1981, lol. It seems many of the fans of live music CDs listen to classic rock or jazz. Anyways, I did have two when I was younger. My favorite for sure was Pantera's "101 Proof". I had Metallica's "Live **: Binge and Purge" as well and enjoyed that album.

Good to see you Mosh! I'm not a huge fan of live albums either btim but the 5 I mentioned are the ones I listen to.

Another one I like is Friday night in San francisco with DiMeola, Paco, and McLauglin.

ZZTop! Fandango.
I saw them live both pre- and post-beards.
That album LP nails it.
