I wanted to know because I have a couple of thread ideas but they wont really be worth anything if people don't participate in them.

I have no problem with it. You really have to be honest with yourself when playing live.

I'm ok with a group but get a little nervous playing live by myself.

yeah playing live alone is a little nerve racking. I also include throwing a video or recording into the public as playing for others.

You can take back a mistake you make in a recording, however, a mistake live is out there forever.

Recording is no problem since you can do it over until you're satisfied. Live is that one shot do or die type of thing.

I suck, but have no issue playing for others. I know I am not the greatest, and am comfortable with myself. Besides, if my audience is friends and family, they actually think I am good; if I am playing for you guys, I can get tips on how to improve. It's only potentially a bad thing if you allow it to be that way.

I guess I'm okay with it. I've never played for more than 30 people so I just put "under certain circumstances".

It really depends on how well practiced I am at the moment that one wants to watch. But, for the most part it doesn't bother me.

Generally speaking, I am comfortable playing for others. A few weeks ago, my wife had a bunch of work friends over and one of them saw my guitars and said "play something". I don't like to play by myself for a group of people. But if someone else is playing another guitar, bass or drums with me, I'll do it and enjoy it.

That is usually the case.. the "I suck but I will play for anybody" part.
