Oh well...

“My president,” he told the crowd, making a dramatic gagging gesture, “is trying to pass a gun ban. So he’s staging all of these murders, like the ‘Fast And Furious’ thing down at the border, in Aurora, Colo., all the people that were killed there, and now the beautiful people at the Sikh temple… I don’t know where I’m gonna live if America keeps going the way it’s going because it looks like it’s turning into Nazi America.”

He voted for Bush, twice. I disregard this man when it comes to politics. I want 80s Mustaine back.

Stage murders to influence a ban on guns? Nazi America? I don't think so. If Mustaine said this, he is an idiot.

Well... mayb you should read it XD...

I dont see a point or reasonable thinking that if Obama try to pass gun ban... how that is goin to be Nazi America where he is living`?

Sad events of Aurora shooting... Obama's fault? HA! get it straight long hair!

but worst thing in thiskind of... art? is...

"One could almost laugh off Mustaine’s delusional, factless paranoia, except for a few not-so-funny aspects. For starters, it’s one thing when Mr. Joe Q. Nobody mouths off in his fringe Yahoo group. It’s different when a guy who’s sold 30 million albums does so. He’s got a platform and a following."

There been discussion of Artist freedom for aeons, where many "artists" tell that you cant put art in chains and Art have to be free... allright, but STILL... line between art / bad taste / dimwitness IS there and WE...who use and buy art and who have BRAINS, do NOT tolerate using art for this.

ps...

I got to tell... I drive much in work and I was moving to next customeer when a sight got me almost tears. It was just nothing, but a young girl mayb 12 or 13 years hair messed like she was first time out of forest she was born carrying little dog and wearing a shirt with huge text "I want world peace"

sadly... naive, it never gonna happen.

I think it goes a bit deeper than the staging of a few murders to ban guns,But thats a topic for another day. I open minded to everything thing I hear. No matter how outlandish the conspiricy or accusation. I think instead of calling Mustaine an idiot, maybe you could weigh the possiblities. Even if they seem idiotic, stranger things have happened in U.S. History...Anyone ever heard of Watergate? Lmao

So with that said. Dont approve it. But dont deny it. Monitor it. See what the facts are first not just hearing this and going "Oh he is dumb." Research it yourself. And until you have solid proof Mythbusting his claim, dont bash. Its bad manners.

@gshredder,

I looked it up. Did my research. He did say it. He's an idiot. Trust me, I like me some Dave Mustaine the musician and song writer but I don't like Mustaine the politician. Really, he should do some research before he makes a statement like that at a metal concert in another country.

@ gshredder2112

Open mindedness also allows one to criticize someone else no matter how much they look up to that person. I use to love Megadeth, and a few years ago I would probably have said the same thing (that it may/may not be true), but now I realize that just because I like the persons music, doesn't mean the person making that music isn't a political idiot. (Zakk Wylde is an example for me).

-----------------------

Mustaine is very confused politically , one second he's a liberal, then a conservative. People that can't make up their mind about a subject should not be given any attention when discussing that subject.

Plus why is he even bringing up the possibility of a gun ban? Every time a shooting happens a bunch of people come out either for no restrictions of guns (NRA) or the complete ban of guns (Stereotypical Liberal). But the fact is guns laws don't change and if they do it's a very little change (like how many days for waiting period). They will never completely get rid of guns because of a little thing called the black market.

And don't get me wrong the Gov. definitely murders and covers them up. But if we (the public) know about it, it didn't happen. Which is why I don't believe in a lot of these secret societies they talk about on TV. We know about these groups. So it's not them (maybe some other group though using that as a diversion for their doings). I'm not calling the general population stupid, but trust me a secret society wouldn't be so secret if we knew about them would they?

I gotta stop. I could go on for a while. (I probably look like the crazed one now right?) Sorry if you find this post a bit discursive.

I agree DarkRiff. There are people in the entertainment industry that do well with politics and those that don't. Also, what I think about what they may say or do has nothing to do with my like or dislike of their music or other creative talents. In fact, I love Woody Allen movies and I still watch them today and appreciate him as an artist and a creative force in the movie industry. However, I don't like that he married his step-daughter!

Hmmmmm. You guys are right. Im certainly not defending his perspective. Nor Am I denying it. Im listening to it. Doesnt mean I have to beleieve it.

This his has nothing to do with him being a musician at all. Its purely political. My enjoying his music has nothing to do with my listening to his speeches as a politcal person.

All Im trying to point out is that its just like every other conspiracy in the universe. It has truthful bits and parts, and not so truthful ones.

Although President obama staging a mass shooting in order to create more limitations on guns and such is crazy. But the elections are coming up. Gun bans would sure make him popular with with a certain end of the political spectrum. So who is too say? Do you know whats going on behind the scenes? Then you cant really be 100%? Only time will tell.

Well said Emp! Don't take me too seriously either gshred. I'm a Republicrat. I believe in personal responsibility and small government but I also believe in human rights. *** marriage, legalized drugs and all the personal issues/choices we have the right to make for ourselves. Not the government. Mustaine is just paranoid and pissed off, as we all are. He has the right to say what's on his mind and speak up. He should also think before he speaks!

Im a Regular Dale Gribble. I get a bit carried away with conspiracy theory lol Sorry guys. To be honest. I know 0 politcal figures. So I cant really say anything about politics beyond whats spoon fed to us in the national media. Which is filtered by the government run FCC.(JS) So I guess it all comes down to what a person believes is the right and wrong based on their own experinces in society.

I remember WASP song where Blackie speaks in the song "I love my country, but I fear like death its goverment", every corner of the world people have atleast suspicions of political issues if not conspiracies or alike, like here in Finland too, that is only a small country and its elitegroups are few, but still... there is room for suspicions.

There are congressmans who speaks against peat production, and next term, they speak behalf of it, if they look that they get more votes of it at that time. I count only few, who opinions stay terms after terms... I would say, because of that we have a right to be suspicious.

Its people that makes our lives, like in Russia, where those girls who made radical presentation in church criticizing Putin and the church, they got 2 years in JAIL!?"!?!... and its planned to be 7 years at start, but then lowered and lowered more by foreign pressure.

But still... when I see interviews of people there, they ale allright with it. They BELIEVE that it is right to punish those girls to be against their LEADER of any way... iron fist man, iron fist.

sayings from same direction "World can easily be covered with newspapers" Perfect.

Well, Ryan should have know what RATM was all about before opening his mouth, but then again when does the Romney campaign ever do proper research before opening their mouths? I hate campaign years. Both candidates just spread lies or over exaggerate the bad things about each other.

That's true man, it always blows my mind that they are allowed to literally get away with slander and libel. It really turns me off. How about someone tell me what they plan to do that will improve my life? Is that really so difficult to do? I know the answer of course, is a resounding yes, it is far too difficult to do. I digress...

@btimm

Difficult for one life....no it's easy to improve one life.

Difficult for nearly 350,000,000 (around there).....oh yea.

that's one of the reasons I'm not going for political science.
Can't satisfy all of the people all of the time.

eh. I dont know why we should care about what Dave Mustaine thinks about politics. Just because he has musical talent does not mean he can influence our views as individuals. I guess what Im saying is when it comes to politics, dave mustaine is just another guy.

One of my favorite musicians, Beck, is part of a wierd cult. I wish I didn't know that, but I can't un-know it now. Maybe it shouldn't change my perspective on him or the music.

You don't think he can't influence people's views. You're just flat out wrong, sorry. There is a huge, massive different between can't and shouldn't. I agree he should not be able to persuade you, but most people are incapable of thinking for themselves.

I was following Jake Snider, singer for my favorite band Minus the Bear, on Twitter, and I had to unfollow him, because it was nothing but super liberal political posts left and right. It was very annoying to see it almost as spam on my feed. fwiw, I will put the caveat here that he could have been super conservative and I would have also unfollowed him. It's not a party thing, it's a rabid belief thing. I don't like to when people bash either side and ignore the reality: there are good and bad things from both ends of the spectrum and the best way to analyze something is not with a generalized thought process, but a thought process specific to the issue at hand. For me personally, there are things I am conservative about and things I am liberal about. It just depends on the issue, I am not one or the other. Classification of people and issues is a great way for people to get votes ... Anyways, I digress, just wanted to point out that yeah, I agree with tsb and think I should know less about the people in the bands I like. lol Regardless, I will still listen to Minus the Bear religiously and the new album is due out 8/28!! Get it if you enjoy quality music from amazing musicians!!!
