Ok so I went to the guitar shop today and I saw a Stagg strat. It was for $70 and I thought, "Hey, why not?"

I don't know the details of this guitar yet (and I'm not sure I'll understand them XD) but could I please have some advice?

I've been wanting an electric since I started :)

And I'm up at 1:45 AM posting this because my mind won't give me peace till I do.

I'm not really a fan of Strats, aren't they more like Rock oriented guitars?
What kind of music do you wanna play anyways?

That does not seem like a good deal. My understanding is that it's a pretty junky guitar. Try to find a used Fender. A Squier will possibly even play better.

Aymen: I don't think you understand what 'Rock' means.

@tinyskateboard: I would, but I don't have that kind of money T_T If you know any good guitars I could get for cheap (I don't think my local shop sells used ones), please tell me!

What I want to play...Depends. Sometimes I feel like playing power pop and sometimes heavy metal.

You need to look for used items on Craigslist or other classifieds. Squier strat costs $100 new, so used they can ge had for $50.

Try second hand shops too. I've found some great deals on guitars that would otherwise cost a fortune.

Yeah, just look on craigslist and be very patient and you can great deals. I got my Schecter Diamond Elite Series for $200, was a pretty good deal. All these comments on where to find inexpensive used guitars are great.

It's a good life lesson btw. There is not a lot of value with buying things new. I wouldn't buy a new car either. You might want to buy your toothbrush new though ...
