Since I mostly play m7 chords, I guess my "favorite" scales are Dorian and Mixolydian.
I also like harmonic and melodic minor, blues,.and Major.
Ehich I use depends on the song |

Love the Pentatonic and melodic minor.. and also learn the Pentatonic extended scale that one helps transition to the next octive of the Pent |

I agree on the Chromatic.
But If I had to choose another...
Dorian, Phrygian, Major, Minor, Diminished. They're all fun. |

I like to use mainly a mix of Minor, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Harmonic Minor, and a bit of Japanese, with a taste of chromatic. |

I voted for pentatonic cause when i solo I mostly just use it, with some added major/minor scale notes
but I guess i mostly use major scale secretly entwined into my folk music finger picking |

forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what's the use of the chromatic scale? since it contains all notes, isn't it something like plalying with no scale at all? |

Not a dumb question at all. The Chromatic scale is more of a concept than an actual scale. Many guitarists struggle with this idea and haven't a clue how to actually apply the Chromatic scale.
So, in a sense, you are right; using the Chromatic scale is almost like not using a scale at all.

there doesnt seem to be a lesson on the application of the Chromatic scale.. idk how to apply it either.. could you maybe make a lesson on it or something? |

@gs124 I think the chromatic scale happens to be a legitamite scale
and not just a concept. Because It requires the the notes to follow
A complete pattern all Hs.
Its contains all the notes, but that doesnt change the fact that its still played in the specific formula. I.e A scale.

i like using the aeolian[natural minor] phrygian and pentatonic scales,and i throw alot of chromatic notes in my solos as well. |
