I have an Epi SG. I love it, except the action is pretty high and I can't lower it. But that's just my SG; not all are like that.

ohhh see thats a problem. i like solo'ing up high a lot, and high action would make that kinda difficult, im planning on gettin the epi g-400 sg. its the only decent SG in my price range... is that what you have? if it is, about how high is the action? like compared to something like ur finger?

Does lowering action make strings closer or higher off the fretboard? Btw Ibanez art series do good work. My old guitar teacher used one.

Lowering your action will bring your strings closer to the neck surface.

Rock on!

it is my opinion that Ibanez is far superior to epiphone.

Right now I have Epiphone SG400, Yamaha APX500 and Jasmine acoustic guitar. My band plays usually Rock to Hard Rock and some groove stuff... So strato could fit quite nicely, but hollow body could give some Kicks to gigs ;) Gretsch White Falcon is in my dreams lol.

CAUTION: This statement may be false.
jk

I like Ibanez, they have a nice feel to them, but I like the sound of an Epiphone better.

Emp: ah yeah a strat would go good with that u should look into the ibanez ARX though too they would work well also...

Darkriff: lol its all in opinion. i personally like ibanez's sound better, itsa little more... like.. theyre a little more clear yet still crunchy if u know what i mean.. idk lol
