Recently I finished a small job composing some music for a scrolling shooter called escape infinity, the music had to be pretty fun and the developer was really impressed with my work and hopes to work with me again in the future so all in all it was pretty good

http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/3432389 here's a link to a 3 song tunepack with songs from the game.

Systems ready is the menu music and I was told I had to utilise noise in it as the background to the menu is static so I fed the output of an FM synth into it's input and turned up the level of modulation till I got a bit of fizz to the sound. The noises velocity and volume and the range it encompasses is also completely dependant on the notes playing which means it follows the music which I felt was better than just have white noise playing in the background throughout the tune.

Just felt I had to explain systems ready, the noise is deliberate it's not shoddy work =P

Yeah, very good stuff dude.

Since this is my future profession - it's definitely good for menu music. If you're posting anymore, I'd like to see you compose something to a scene or a game clip!

Flying Away is my favourite.

I'm Getting Out Of Here - this song really reminds me of a Japanse monkey game on the DS... for the life of me I can't remember it's name, but this is a song where I could scream at the game for being so frustratingly complicated, but I'd still get this song stuck in my head and bob around. I don't picture it being menu music though... it doesn't really work... something needs to be happening while this music is going on.

Systems Ready - Yeah this is very cool menu music, I'd like the hear this in a game! Nice stuff dude. :)

What program did you use to compose?

Fruity loops but I run native instruments komplete 7 through it.

For most of it I used FM8 but for I'm getting out of here I used a DX10 emulator and fruity drumsynth for that extra lump of retro

I should have been clearer Systems ready is the only menu muisc flying away and I'm getting out of here are played during the game play.

healFree project: Belief: Episode 1: "Unseen voices" featuring music by Daniel McKenna from Mani García on Vimeo. This is my first piece of soundtrack work, it's an indie documentary called belief. It's only a short segment with sldes with text on but I managed to line it up so every slide change happened at the start of a bar to coordinate the music better.

Hopefully once escape infinity is done it will be uploaded to the web and I can link it so you can play it and see how my music goes with the game.

And thanks for the feedback :D I would love to get into game soundtrack composing as well.

Good composition. I'm not to much a fan of the genre, but it sounded well rounded and thought out.

Rock on!

@GS thanks, it's not the sort of music I'd put on to listen to casually but the client gets what the client wants.

@null thank you :D
