Pretty cool stuff man. Really liked the melodies that were touched on at the end of the tune, really made me think the end of the viking world was here! haha
Good stuff dude

@case did you google ragnarok/know what it was or was that a lucky guess xD

And thanks man, I wrote it a few months ago to test out my orchestral chops and recently got good orchestral samples instead of midi so I put it into kontakt 4 rechecked every note velocity panning volumes and fix every transposing error... And sort of the articulation triggers.

I think it was worth it though :D

Great work. The main theme was a little too stress inducing for me to want to put it on my playlist.

I need a relaxing interlude after that.

I think I would have preferred strings instead of horns. Overall, great job, I think it was a little thin, though I did really enjoy the theme.

Replace all the horn parts with strings is what I would do. I'm not really a fan of horns.

@AlexB yea I did realise it was repetitive after months of leaving it and coming back to change it from midi to my VSL samples

@Guitarslinger Each unto his own, I'm personally not the oboes biggest fan (but it does have its uses at times). BTW some of the french horn parts are doubled with violins etc

Also I was going for stressful ragnarok is a big war between norse gods were a lot of them die so I wanted a slightly dissonant stressed sledge hammer of orchestral fury (to put it in a completely non-melodramatic manner)

Hmmmm... The only thing I could think to add would be to open the song with "I come from the land of the ice and snow..." XD

Have you tried playing around with sound samples before man? I think adding some rolling thunder/lightning striking in a few spots for dramatic effect would be even more badass. Just a thought maybe for future compositions man.

@case I'm hoping to write soundtracks some day (preferably for video games) so the sound effects would be added by the actual game :P

And would I follow up the ice and snow line with "...from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow hammmmmmmer of the goddddsss..."

That would be a pretty cool thing to do man. You could totally do music for games sort of like Halo(more of an epic, otherworldly feel).

haha I guess that last part would get out of the cross hairs of Zep fans XD haha
