Guitars: Andy Wood (Down From Up)
Vocals: Stephan Jenkins (Third Eye Blind)
Bass: P-Nut (311)
Drums: Chad Smith (Red Hot Chill Peppers)

I have a reason for this odd line up...
Stephan Jenkins is so creatively lyrically and can play unique rhythm guitar that Andy Wood would be able to shred on top of with out drowning out the song. It would give Andy's that pop to his guitar that most people can only dream of having. Because you can be an epic player but the rhythm can KILL and solo or make it something generations will remember.

Then P-Nut and Chad Smith would be one of the craziest rhythm section you could imagine.

All of the players are epic in their own instruments but would be able to limit one another without losing the song itself in the mix.

Oh and watch any of them live. The stage presents would be mind blowing!!

I think i would be sick to combine Dio's vocals and Zakk's Pounding riffs along with Billy and Vinnie's groove.

Well, it would have to be a metal band! Tough choices too. Hard to believe I left out my favorites in, Dave Mustaine, Peter Wichers, John Petrucci, Dimebag Darrell and so many more.

Vocals: Lars Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth)
Guitars: Adam D or Michael Amott & Matt Heafy (Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy, Trivium)
Bass: John Myung (Dream Theater)
Keys: Jorden Rudess (Formerly of Dream Theater)
Drums: Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork)

Rock on!

I think this HAS to be genre specific. My favorite performers of each instrument would never mesh well, so this is what I would do for metal. I may do other genres in the future.

Guitars: Adam Dutkiewicz (KSE), Kirk Windstein (Down, Crowbar, Kingdom of Sorrow)
Bass: Ryan Martinie (MudVayne)
Drums: Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater)
Vocals: Maynard James Kennan (Tool, A Perfect Circle)

That's craaaaazy Jazz! Carl Sagan on vocals? "Imagine, if you will, billions, and billions of light bit particles flying beyond the speeeeed of light".

It could be whoever you want, live or dead, and any genre. My first is my ultimate jazz fusion band. It looks like you guys already got this!

@Jazz I have something in my head but I can't find a place for the vocals... but then what I have is some crazy prog orchestra of epicness...

Jimmi Hendrix and Tom Morello I don't know if the world could handle that...

Domigan_Lefty
The name of that drummer is Travis Barker, who I agree is a BADASS!

@JazzMaverick
Pedro Eustache by him self is epic! I guess the world can make survive it all epicness is put togeather. Happened b4 and we made it, Yanni proved it.

As for my line up here it is. I'm not sure what kind of music these guys could make, but I'm sure that with the great Yasushi Ishii guidance they could all work together and make some epic music.

Composer/master of all that is godly - Yasushi Ishii

Vocals/Guitar - Benjamin Burnley (Breaking Benjamin)

Rapper/Keyboard - Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park)

Guitar/Violin - (Sugizo) Yasuhio Sugihara

Guitar/Vocals - Matthew Bellamy (Muse)

Violin/Whistling/Glockenspiel - Andrew Bird

Cello - Gaspar Claus (don't know? look into him!)

Bass - Gavin Shoesmith (John Butler Trio)

Drums - Travis Barker (Blink-182)

Keyboardist - Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish)

Keyboardist/Vocals - Rob Swire (Pendulum)

DJ Programer - Joe Hahn (Linkin Park)

and because a band this big would need one

MC - Ben "The Verse" Mount (Pendulum)

Now I'm going to dream that this happens, I'll let you know if I wake up in one piece.

I have two

Guitars: Buckethead, Frank Zappa
Bass: Les Claypool
Keyboards: George Duke
Vocals: Frank Zappa, Mike Patton
Drums: Mike Portnoy

or

Guitars: Tom Morello, Tony Iommi, Vernon Reid (Does anyone remember how kick-ass this guy is?)
Bass: Les Claypool
Vocals: Eddie Vedder, Les Claypool
Drums: Chad Smith

I figured these guys would work well together, I didn't just want to throw a bunch of my favourite musicians together.

I think Travis Barker has a different style as he could fluctuate easily to most anything. I think he is more of a badass in real life as he has done so much in a short time with his life.

I pick all this guys just to imagine what the hell would happen if they did make a song together.

As for who I would put if I was picking just my favorites for a 5 piece band.

Singer - J. Loren Wince from the band hurt

Guitar - John Butler from John Butler Trio

Bass - Michael Peter Balzary or Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers

Drums - John Stanier from the bands Helmet and Battles

Keys - Rob Swire from Pendulum

This would be fun.
