Ok, I was wondering if anyone here has a floyd rose style tuning system. I have an Ibanez rg series and it has the fret locks and such. well one of my strings broke, and i decided to replace them. I did them one at a time. while trying to get the strings to about the right tuning for standard, i noticed that the bridge was probably about an inch or so away from the guitar, the strings tension was pivoting the bridge at the spot where you can raise or lower the strings to the fretboard. I do not know the names of all these functions so it may be a bit hard for me to put it in correct, understandable terms. I got it closer to the guitar now but its still quite a considerable gap. CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE??

i have an ibanez rg with floyd rose but i don't get what you're trying to say, i don't know the terms either so... and i'm no expert in guitar mechanics at all, haven't had any troubles with the system yet...

is your bridge just an inch higher then when it would be parallel with the guitar?
maybe a picture or so could help?

"the strings tension was pivoting the bridge at the spot where you can raise or lower the strings to the fretboard"
if you maybe could explain this part better....

hopefully someone else understands your problem
good luck
