*what inspires you to play?*

Its fun to make noise.

strangely enough (I cant find the correlation) what makes me want to play my heart out the most are Hayao Miyazaki movies (spirited away, My neighbor totero, Howls moving castle and all the rest) I think it may be because his drawing skill makes me feel like an inferior artist.

It seems like guitar fills a hole in my life that nothing else can fill. I can't really explain it, but sometimes I just feel like picking up a guitar.

When I'm angry, the loud, heavy riffs relieve my anger
When I'm depressed, the crying blues understand my pain
When I'm happy, the virtuoso lead sings with me.
and for everything else, my guitar stands beside me.
Amazing how an inanimate object can be as great as a best friend.

When the stress of life bears down on me playing gives me the relief I need to make it through.

The act of being able to create something that shows who I am and how I feel better than my own words can.

That and I now feel really down when I don't play or write music

Well I don't really play covers. For me, writing music is just a nice way to de-stress, carry myself off into a new song/world of fiction I write or just express myself with real situations and feelings. It's like litterally hearing yourself think at times. I find the whole process of finding words and sitting down on a night with the guitar to discover that song's/situations melody while everyone/thing else around me goes quiet for a change - is just nice. It soothes me, gives me a good time to think and get some insight often even just about myself or can also get me away from any thoughts that frustrate me.

So what inspires me? Just to pop the guitar back down afterwards, feel refreshed and ready to go about my life with much more ease.
