I hear the gbson company has gone to hell. What is it about the new gison les pauls compared to the old ones that make them crap?

Could it be the pickups?

It's supposed to be the wood. A friend of mine whose been using Lps since the 70s said they've started using cheap wood.

Yeah man, part of it is the maple they're using on the tops now.

maple tops add a flavor to the other tone wood. It helps to offset the dark tone of mahogany. Plus it can look pretty cool :P

Today i tried out a gibson studio a strat and a tele. And now i think i want a tele. It sounded the best, IMO.

I agree matt8675. If and when I ever get an LP, it will be an older one made of solid, not chambered, wood.

a new neighbor just moved in next to me and I heard his band playing so I waited for a few months and went over and said hello and show me his les paul studio and I am sorry guys but to be very honest it was the worst giuitar I have ever put my hands on, I set guitar up on the side for fun and of course 40 bucks but I did his for free and man it was very sad, very sad, of course I told him that I did what i could but i'm sorry to say that it was a piece of """", sorry

What studios are you guys playing? If its the faded ones that are part of the cheap line up, those things are fire wood in my opinion. But I had my hands on one of the limited edition flood guitars and that thing was nice. I loved it.

However I still have a list of 4 guitars I want:
Fender American Blond Tele
ESP Standard Series Eclipse II
Gibson Flood Anniversary LP Studio (or an old Gem series)
PRS Custom 24

I heard the Gibson forests are running out of trees. Could this have anything to do with the quality of their guitars?
