ok,so i broke the high e string on my guitar.and i dont have spare at the momen,i do have an a string and a d string,which do you think would work as a replacement for a day or two?i have a floating bridge,so i need the tension. thanks.

the d is closer to the e than the a and can be tuned to an e more easlily but it will sound funny. I suggest practicing around it.

I would say temporarily block it with a small block, battery, or something.
A different Gauge string will still require adjustments in the back, etc. (different tension)
so to save yourself from tune, adjust, repeat multiple times,Put a temporary block under the bridge.

It's not double locking trem?

its an edge pro 2,i can make the spring adjustments,and i can tune the dstring to e .

Ooooooooh, I just realized you said your high E... that changes things. I'd just adjust the springs if i were you.

Well, if you tighten up the springs you can still have the tension you need with out the other string.

well,yeah,but my guitar is in need of repairs,so ive already tightened the slrings,for other reasons.but im curious not to how this is gonna sound.

maybe you should just go out and buy a new pack of strings.

you will create unnecesarry tension not only to the bridge but to the neck of your guitar,you can damage it due to the weight of the string

go without doing that has helped me alot actually just trying to play everything i normally do with diffrent fingering.

I buy SIT strings and a dozen single .13 gauge strings. I always break my first string.
