I have been a member of this site since feb of 2008.

I was looking at the site today and noticed how many new people where now here, and how many older members are not.

As I was thinking about it and this just kind of came to me so I wrote it down.

The memories of days gone by
are always bitter-sweet
the people that have filled your life
that you will never meet

The friendship grown from far away
are meaningful and true
but meet that person face to face
and you wont have a clue

advice, correction, and a joke
from another land
is always more encouraging
Than a stranger where you stand

generous acts of kindness
from a stranger that you know
is more than family, friends, and neighbors
ever really show

So I'm glad I have the memories
of the ones that have come and gone
and hope someday we collaborate
and in person play our songs

I don't really write poetry so I don't know what got in to me but there it is.

Then that person clearly finds value in doing something other than coming to this forum. Putting your email address out publicly is asking for trouble, especially if you are like me and generally use your work email address instead of a personal email address.

Thanks guys. Glad you like it.

Each verse bring certain people to my mind.

I'm sure if the right person reads the right verse they will know that it is about them.

Wonderful. That could be easily named "Our song" :)...
Things change when the times go by... in real life as in "social networking site"... some people come to your show and some people leaves... but one thing is same on both cases that affect in that reality. Your actions.

Am I just friend with bunch of "avatars" , "Nick's"... sometimes, sometimes friendship rise above those and if you lose a "avatar?", no friend like that... it always bring down emotions.

Ive lost few from great gaming communities before... some are still even the game was long gone.

Hahahaha Good to hear from you my friend!
It is interesting to watch the parade of folks coming and going here at hotel cuckoo isn't it?
I've been hoping you'd come by to say hello. Last time you were here you mentioned working on Christian music. How is that going? We'd love to hear anything you might have recorded.
The "list of missing members" can be sad but I guess it is normal with web relationships.
But YOU came back so Yey!
We are going to have to change your name to Lazarus! LOL
Phip

PS and how's that family of yours? Everyone is healthy and happy i hope?

Les Paul! We miss you! Please don't leave the site - we need the original members on here, too. It makes it more meaningful in my opinion.

Your lyrics are really good man, thanks for sharing!

And I agree with Harley - if you turn that into a tune! I would love to hear it! Maybe we could all collaborate and make a grand AGC tune.

Maybe even an album! o.O

That may be one of the best writings I've read here. I have not been a member long but I can relate to many parts of that poem. Good job LP!
