How do you tune to a key? If you think about it your guitar is tuned to the key of C because it has all naturaals is that what you mean?

I see. So by struming the open strings you'll have a C major chord. Does that mean if you put a capo on the first fret you'd be in the key of C#? If your tuned in that C major tuning you have there?

yes it would null,its a very interesting concept,but yeah a capo would give you a ringing c# maj triad.
