any tips on improving your speeed?

The scene is really,really ****ed up in here,new bands actually have to pay to play! I was victim of this system for some time

-You have your band with your friends
-Since this is mexico,you cant show up in a club and say "i want to play friday night" they will kick you out right away,who are "you" to play in my club??
-Unless you have contacts,or are really good at making ppl go to your shows (more $$$$$ to the club) you dont have any good,useful exposure.
-with this,organizers get in contact with clubs so they can make "festivals" or "war of the bands" contests,most of the time contests are corrupt too

-in these events,the organizers tells the young band "Hey,you can play here,but you MUST sell or get at least (example) 700 US from tickets you sell to your friends,fans or family" most of thtime,ppl cant sell that much,somthey have to actually pay from their own money to be able to play in a ****ty place with **** bands and **** audio,everything is ****e in here

- at first i was young and fell victim of this,but i realized early it sucked. Big time.

Now,ironically,im sometimes part of the system now,as event organizer or judge in contests,sometimes it sucks,but hey,i ****ing need food and money in the 3rd world,unfortunately,the scene is really rotten,i hate it.

Most of the time i use the simp,e rule of "Less is More",sometimes,more is more! But to get a really good tone,you must first lear how different tones are made,why scooped mids wont work on a fusion track or why jazz cleans mean nothing on metal (most of the times)

This,of course,comes with practice,try to emulate tones you admire,analyse the qualities of the tone (is it bright? Does it has punch? Its compressed? Has tons of sustain? Its alive? Its fresh? Etc etc) then apply all your knowledge

Practice,there is no way around,push your boundaries everytime,learn freakin hard songs,but learn them well!

I know you like to play live quite a bit...

on stage im the craziest person alive,ppl want to live a live concert,they want to get entertained

When im doing DJ sets,i get crazy with the ppl,since dance music makes everyone go crazy at the same time,DJ is an important factor too! just watch this



That guy is 69 years old,and is one of Psytrance's most loved artists

I get crazier tho! that with live guitars! yeah!

When i play AlexB music is a bit different,since ppl dont react in a similar way (instrumental virtuoso guitar is not for everyone) still,i give some good show.

I'm gonna ask you this one too.
I think everyone has a "moment" when something "clicks" about music theory. An "AHA!" moment. What I'd like to know is if you've ever had one of those moments about the physical aspect of playing. A moment when you found you could play something that you never thought you'd be able to play before. Has that ever happened for you?
