When something like that has happened to me i found that i was playing the same note as what i heard, and at the same octave. Could that be the case?

Those events happen to many people often, too bad that many people are too "estranged" from oneself to notice them, but when experiencing them as you did, Its awesome event.

Just pay notice to your existence and consiousness and you find out yourself experiencing similar events in many aspects of life.

I know what you guys mean. You almost can never reproduce it. Jimmy Page hits a note like this during the solo of dazed and confused on Sound Remains the Same.
