So last night I played a coffee shop show, my cousin also played (http://www.youtube.com/user/NoizBaby) and one of her friends, it was awesome. I made 38 dollars and some cents. all from donations, we split the money equally 3 ways so like $115 dollars, thats pretty good for a half filled coffee shop.

anyway..

haha that sucks Alex. I totally wasn't expecting any money, I was just doing it for fun, and to get my name out there a bit, even though most of the people there were friends.

It was just a really relaxed environment, no pressure, no rush. I played like 10 songs. 7 of my own, then a Bright Eyes, Tom Waits, and Bob Dylan covers. I think the whole thing got taped, so maybe i'll get around to posting some of it

@BBT,
Glad it was a positive experience. You can probably guess that many people have a "nightmare" experience first time out, so Congrats!
AND it pays more than climbing a radio tower too!

Nice dude! As I posted on Emps vid/song post, I'll watch/listen later with a nice hot black coffee, a clear head, and when I'm less prone to falling out of my chair :P haha

Congrats though man! My first gig was a cover band thing, but my first REAL gig with my stuff...well...you saw the video... yeah.... :/

haha

yes, they were VERY enthusiastic about me and my cousin coming back to play sometime. They have "Spotlight Nights" every few weeks with just local musicians playing, my brother often plays them

Awesome shots m8. So chillout stuff. Btw, playing first gig with band is sweaty business at first time... playing alone there is a... well bit different thing. Little more experience and confidence and you sound like dylan mate :D.

Cheers!
