Delay with a close second to either a good reverb or medium gain overdrive.

I can't really vote here since I like them all equally... but if I had to choose one based on necessity alone, it would be distortion effects.

Is it just me or on my last post is the whammy part separated with a huge space?

I've gone with a more clean sound since listening to RHCP lately, so dist is now closer to the bottom, and I forgot #1, wah.

Tape delay. B-cuse: it basically has= delay, flanger, chorus and distortion all in one, as the tape, capstan and the rubber wheel wears the delay produces these types of sounds.

allthough the distortion only comes in tube boxes. Such as the Ep1 :)

I also have a thing for Tremolo. If you use a sharp tremolo and delay you can get some pretty interesting sounds

I love the sound those Roto-Vibe pedals make. I know Zakk Wylde uses it on some stuff, and Jerry Cantrell used it on the new AiC record. I don't really know what the sound is called though. Maybe flange or something. I'm not sure. For necessity though, probably a wah or something. It adds a different dynamic to the sound whenever someone uses it imo.

MIDI is not an Effect!! it stands for Musical instrument Digital interface.

MIne shall be an infinite sustain shredhead distortion,or a crystal clear clean tone with chorus and massive reverb with a touch of delay...yeah..

I like chours right now, with each of the stereo signals going into a different amp. The tube amp has a distortion pedal in front of it for certain parts. The solid state amp has a delay, distortion and a reverb in front of it. I can't say enough cool things about having the clean and dirty sounds both swirling like that.

I can get some nice distortion tones from my amp. So after Distortion it's the wah.

I put distortion for guitar for in general convolution reverb, and absynth when loaded as an effect are great for a wide manner of things
