where da girls at?

I look at all the music that i listen to and notice that there are not that many female guitarists. so im wondering what are some of your faverit femail guitarist.

I like Poison Ivy from The Cramps (awesome psychobilly band if you don't know them) and I listen to Sonic Youth a lot so Kim Gordon.

Morgan Lander and Tara Mcleod from Kittie are good. they came out of their shell more on there newest album. those where the only ones I know by name.

I really like the guitaress(hehe) from The Donnas. I can't remember her name...but she rocks... like hard. Angus would be jealous :P

I know just about every guitar player (and wannabe guitarists) in my area.
And there's a (about) 4/1 girl/guy ratio of (real) guitarists.
Some are really good, but too shy to go out and play live.

However, when i listen to the music on my mp3 player, the only female guitarists are the bassists for "smashing pumpkins"

So my favorite would be one of the local girls. That noone knows but me! (she a lefty too)

I didnt know if I should post that but... one of my favs...

I know Lori, she's done well... but she's very narrow minded. Seriously refuses to acknowledge any other musical style. It got annoying and we ended up having quite a big arguement simply because Jazz was for old fogies in her eyes. She's allowed an opinion but it got a bit ridonkulous so I don't talk to her anymore.

I would have never known from her MySpace. I hate when someone thinks their music is the only good music. I'm beginning to think music should only be put into genres on the CD rack. Genres can be to music what stereotypes are to the human race.

Brooke Miller

One of my favorite guitarists. She just knows how to work with her voice so well. Not to mention she is a mean picker, and the wife to guitar virtuoso Don Ross. :)




This one is not usually my cup of tea... but this is Kaki King. She is a great guitarist and simply does wonders with a guitar that I think is a piece of ****. :)

That is pretty nice one, thou.. I didnt liked 0:44 style, but then... when singing came more crispy, her sound really kicked in. Smooth guitar too.. promising talent she is.
