I would like everyone to pick a number between 1-15 again… (First person to post can also choose my number) and this one’s a little different… whatever number you choose you will have been given a song from a previous game.

This Challenge is going to be 3 weeks long instead of two because it might be a little difficult for some since school is starting again.

What I would like you awesome people to do is…

Transcribe it and make it your own version!

I’ll show you an example of a previous game song and how easily people have changed it into their own thing…

“U.N. Owen Was Her?” – The Original

The Altered Version… (honestly, one of my favourite altered versions ever)

So this is just one example of how you can alter a song to make it your own, but make sure it always has that familiarity of the original!

Again, for the sake of a good surprise I'll PM to each of you what your genre is and once you're finished with your song post it on this topic for all to see and enjoy!

REMEMBER!!!

You do not have to transcribe every instrument played!

BUT!!

I would appreciate it if you actually participate in this one instead of saying you will, recieve the song, then you don’t like it or you find hard and then don’t get back to us… if you don’t want to do it then tell me so that someone else can choose that number!

I'm going to go ahead and let you know that I can't do this second one :(
I have one song left to finish up, and I have already got another song in the riffing department being sorted out, so I have my work cut out for me haha

Yeeeeey! I honestly thought this was a rejected challenge, glad to hear more people are still interested in it.

The next one will be more theoretical.

I'd Love to participate but I'm not gonna occupy any number since I know I'll be busy preparing for my University admission exam. I failed the first time so this is going to be a tough one.
Congrats to Jazzy for the brilliant idea. I've already listened to the songs from #1 and I think it worked out kinda well even though there weren't so many submissions since it was the first time.
I'm actually amazed how people just came up with songs. WOW. It looks like a good way to learn about music because people had to do research on the genres they picked.
I'm PROBABLY (not really sure since I suck at music) going to join a #3. :D

All you AGC users ROCK!

I think I'm almost done with this one... should be able to finish tomorrow. Not really gonna work with the whole song... just pulling the main theme and ****ing around with the ideas :) Hopefully it's what you're looking for Jazz ^.^

Heh, i just had a lot of time this weekend to do nothing... and the song I got was something i've heard before so it was sorta easy to get the melody in my head and play with it :)

I'm gonna talk to jazz to make sure what i'm doing is the idea of this, and then I'll post a finished version some time next week... when I change my guitar strings and grow some nails.

Been a while since I've played guitar so much that I started bleeding :/

@ JustJeff,

dude - you've got me so excited for this project now
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

and since you're finishing early and it doesn't seem as though that many people are going to join - you're more than welcome to do another one once you're finished... I might do it too :D

that sounds really interesting...i'd love to give it a try, but 1. i'm not really a good musician, 2. i haven't done many different genres, 3. i wouldn't know how to record or upload a song. but if that doesn't bother you i'd do one as well, if you give me the easiest song ;)

here's my entry... it's not much different from the version you already heard Jazz. I actually came down with a pretty sick virus recently and have been fighting it off during the week while taking my grad courses... so I just decided to try and ramp it up a little bit and clean up my playing.

So here it is!! I was given Gourmet Race from Kirby. This is my interpretation of it. To be honest... after listening to it recorded... I didn't like it :( Who knows.

Original...

My version...

I love it Jeff! Great use of transcribing, and it still keeps its main theme.

This is a great example of how well we're all improving as musicians. :D

Yay, I managed to finish mine as well :) I changed my mind though and didn't do the guitar thing, it just didn't work...

Anyways, I had Lance's Theme from Pokemon, which is cool because I love Pokemon ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWokB4Ec5Og

And now my version of it: (I hope you don't mind the bad quality, and the few mistakes I made while playing...)

http://www.4shared.com/audio/bo0yilSS/Pokemon_piano_komplett.html

I hope this works. I'm really bad when it comes to computers or anything of that kind...

Enjoy ;)

Alright, I know this is a month late, I just had a PC malfunction and the first attempt got trashed. I actually gave up on it but hated feeling like a quitter so I had a little free time and decided to try it again. Nothing special about it but I was not gonna let a PC get the best of me so here it is. The original Live & Learn from Sonic the Hedgehog Adventure 2 Battle..

JazzMaverick says:

That was my plan to make it as different as possible..

WICKED MAN! just plain WICKED! darn I really wish to hear that produced by some uber engineers :D, while this is a darn good mixing, but those pros do some magic on tracks...guys... 0:49 like title say, live and learn... darn right man...
so progressive but still it keeps the theme, nice bridges and tricks... this arrangment I should really study ;P

Cheers
