Are there any bands out there that are similar in style? I have looked before, but nothing seems really too much like them, which is a bit sad, because they are so talented and amazing.

Thanks.

What I read about them looks interesting btimm. What album should I take a listen to?

"Mer de Noms" and "Thirteenth Step" are both awesome.

i would have to dig through my music catalog when i get home. i'm sure there is at least one or two other bands similar in style. man APC is amazing though.

also, did you know that maynard is a stand up comedian and has appeared on mr. show with bob and david numerous times? it's true. it blew my mind when i read that. i knew he was friends with bill hicks but apparently it wasn't just a friendship, apparently maynard was like bill hicks' apprentice at performing stand up comedy before hicks' passing. HAHAHA, what???

Yeah man. I used to watch Mr. Show a lot, my brother got me into it. You have no idea how excited I was to see Bob on those Budweiser commercials where he was campaigning, lol.

On another note, remember that song "Three Little Pigs" by Green Jelly? Maynard was in that song ... lol

Tool? lol. As far as I could tell it's the Tool frontman that fronts APC. I've never really been into either band, but it's hard to forget the name Maynard, which is just a badass name, haha. It DID lead me to re-discover a band I'd listened to a couple years ago, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster though, so I thank you for that. To stay on topic, I can't really say I've heard any other band like them. Lyrically at least. The song I listened to ("Judith", I think) had a lot of slide guitar which is pretty southern-esque, and that's what Maylene is, so if you're looking for that, that's a good band to check out.

2 Cents,

Ozz

Tool doesn't sound much like APC imo.

Thanks for the comment about Maylene and the Sons of Disaster though Ozz, I'll check them out!

yeah aside from the lyrical style and singing style, ACP and tool don't have a lot in common. even on APC's harder songs (thinking of you, pet) it's still a completely different style than tool's softer songs. definitely a side project that stands on its own. and because their both great bands, APC can be a gateway band for getting into tool.

Yeah, I am one fo the select few that enjoys both but prefers APC. I appreciate the more melodic style of APC.
