I met a drummer on craiglist, and we are set to jam next week. This is my first time jamming with a drummer in like 10+ years. I asked if he wanted to play any set songs, but he declined and says he just wants to work on some riffs I make. Sounds good to me.

Any advice? I'm a little nervous, but excited to finally jam out with a drummer.

Just play what you like man :) It'll come to you. It should sound cool as long as you're able to keep playing a song.

Basically, it's like playing with a live metronome :D Just with a little more spice!

More the better drummer is, more better you play I guarantee that. Have fun m8, no advices from me but do your style and concentrate on rhythm and beat. Cheers!

I read this as "paly like a man"

Hell just jam bro, Don't worry about anything else if y'all mesh then great if not then all you've wasted is a few hours of time.

Like the Nike... just do it

Wow it went pretty well. We worked on some riffs I made up and made them rock out. Never got to push my peavey encore 65 tube amp a lot...and wow it sounds 200% better when it's pumped....as well as the big muff pi I have.

I did have some timing issues I need to work on, but overall sounded like some good stuff. I think I'm hooked.

Can't wait to do it again! Maybe record it next time.
