It is on the topic of music, and it is a serious question. Some punk took a dump on my beautiful Corvette , and I was asking MUSICIANS for some advice. What cleaning methods work best for you? Any products you would reccomend for a bass without a finish? It is my pride and joy and all I am asking for is some advice. It is funny to an extent, that is because it didn't happen to you.

This thread seems to have people who know what to do with a guitar.

I bought a decent ono last week. The class book has us on the 2 smallest strings playing individual notes. But the teacher also wants us to start on chords. C then G7 I cannot keep my hand from hurting and the thumb in the place on the neck where I started from.

You're at the right forum, you just need more practice. It's very normal that your hand and fingers will hurt in the beginning, just like it might be hard to keep you're thumb in the same position. But you need lots of practice. It's the only way out of the situation.
Then, as time has passed you will feel very good about how everything hurts less and you've gained some speed.

I went to an audition for lead guitar position, mainly for all the wrong reasons(singer was an 18 year old female :D lol) anyways, on the drive over there, the drummer had me listen to some Dream Theater, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. First real exposure, but the technical prowess and musical knowledge with those guys is unreal! I love them now :D

Petrucci is actually why I decided to give the guitar a real shot and practice hard. Listen to the solo on "Another Day" and you will know why. As a guy who played drums for a decade, Portnoy is also the sickest dude imo.
