All I have is the guitar. I was wondering what else I should get to make it sound good like whats the cheapest tuner? Or any thing else?

@cherokee_babe1988,
Well now I'm going to sound like a purist but IMO all you NEED is the acoustic guitar itself. period. The better you get with your playing the better it will sound to you (not withstanding the actual quality of the guitar itself). Patience my young friend. Don't worry about the goodies, learn to master the instrument! In a short while you'll be thinking about a capo and you'll be asking about different kinds of picks and of course you'll want to know what kind of strings everyone is using. (these are the usual questions). But REALLY, don't worry about that now. Become a GOOD musician, really focus on your technique and you won't be worrying about making the guitar sound good, it WILL sound good because YOU will be good! I know, a really boring answer but I stand by it.

Oh, yeah sooooooooo
Capo, cool tool, allows you to bridge the strings on a higher fret and play the song as you normally do, thereby changing the key of the song.
picks, i use lights for stumming, mediums for soloing.
strings you ask? right now i'm using elixir lights. (easier on the fingers. nice sound quality.
So there ya go......

Yeah i know..........
But it's an acoustic, besides strings what else you gonna do? Stuff a rag in the belly? Unless it's an acoustic with pickups? Is it? Gees I'm sorry, I hadn't considered that angle. (mine is not amplified). I wasn't trying to be a "downer" I was just trying to focus on the importance of mastering the instrument first. Ok, i'm going to punish myself now..........brb
:)
ouch, yeow, arrrggh, yipe!
Ok, punishment complete. Now i'm going to my room to "think about what I've done". LOL

Ya, I was talking about stuff like capos strings.. and CHROMATIC TUNERS. I spent a year practicing out of tune when I first started playing! Elixir strings are awesome, I use for the electric elixir medium anti-rust nanoweb coating.

Haha bless ya Phipster. But I strongly agree with him 100%! Don't bother getting anything for your guitar other than a tuner for now. (Well, you can get it whenever you want, just don't use it- yet!) It's so important to actually learn the guitar before you bother with other 'add-ons' and you'll greatly benifit from it later on.

For now, make sure you know your open chords, that's the most important. From there you can gradually learn the other chords along the fretboard but again, stick to the basics!

Korg makes a $15 tuner that works pretty well, I'm not sure of the model but its silver.

Korg tuner is the do all, end all of tuners. I have a $20 model that's black. Thing is beautiful.

As well, if you want your guitar to "look" as good as it sounds, I would buy a cloth and some polish for the body... only if it is laminated. If it does not have a laminate on it, DO NOT POLISH IT!

That's about all you need to do to beginner guitars. You'll be more willing to spend money on taking care of a guitar when you spend thousands of dollars on one... oh I can't wait for graduation :)
