passion pit are awesome. so are doves. metric is okay. the music is pretty good, but that chick has zero stage presence (try watching karen O perform live, then watch the chick from metric perform live and try not to get bored)

Agree 100%. Yeah Yeah Yeahs are great too. Glad to find another Doves fan. I absolutely love the singers voice. It has soooo much power and emotion behind it.

KIM NOWAK - A rock band from Poland i recently discovered

Band of Skulls- Wiki says: is a garage rock band from Southampton, England, consisting of Russell Marsden (guitar, vocals), Emma Richardson (bass, vocals), and Matt Hayward (drums).

Joe Gideon & The Shark- a strange alturnative rock band on Bronzerat Records

The Raconteurs - I'm sure a lot of you have heard of this band but this live version of their song Level is much better than the album version so have a listen

there is this band i found by acident a couple of weeks ago called "i am abomination" and i have fallen in love with them ever since, they're some sort of core but thet dont scream, the guitar work is amazing and they use synth to. only one song has screaming (for like 15 seconds) in it at its a guest vocalist. so look them up

The solo in "Level" in my opinion reminded me of one of those pranks on youtube, where they use videos of good bands and the do a crappy guitar line and insert it. ^^

the band is laquer (they're french). the video is amazazazazazing. directed/starring michel gondry. previous credits include the videos for chemical brothers - star guitar, kylie minogue - come into my world, oh also feature films such as the science of sleep and eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.

this is basically a stop-time video of michel and his brother driving across the contintental US in a vintage car. beautiful.

2 really good local bands from my town.

The Civil Wars (They were actually on Leno not too long ago)
- "Barton Hollow" and "Poison and Wine" are particularly good.

LUNGFISH

I am astonished that no one has mentioned them, the most unique experience lyrically. Trance like guitar riffs support the poetical verses and drift from variation to variation. You can not help but to stop what you are doing and just listen.

Their top songs:

-Creation Story (my favorite lyrical song of all time)

"paranoia warped into a gravity
that spread a smothering blanket; an evolutionary launchpad
vision was tested on blank sky
and a voice said let me tell you about the time that something occurred"

-Sign Post

"The way is gone
it shined in two and blew apart
there is no heart inside
make it appear the way is far
wont you be my signpost"

-Cipher

"give me what i must not keep
for i will search wide and deep
the cipher it runs steady here
the cipher it runs steady here"

...If any wants the song or complete lyrics email me at wizardpro2001@yahoo.com because they are hard to find now especially the best ones strangely

Also there were a lot of great bands mentioned hear from all different genres, this is a sweet thread.
