Zoom H2 is a great little doodad that you can find at your local Sam Ash store... as well as the more expensive H4 option.

Other than that, I forget what I'm using, but just ask to use the recorders in a store to see how they sound in person... cause that's what is most important. I did that at Guitar Center: just went in and asked if I could grab a guitar and listen to the recording quality and he told me to go ahead. Put me in a quiet room and I recorded about 20 seconds and listened to it back and was great. Since I'm not in my room, I have no idea what company makes it, but I know it got discontinued because of the new model... it's like an m300? m3? something like that.

I would also recommend the H2 and H4. Great quality recording.I recorded all my bands demo on my H4.

The H4 runs at about $250. The H2 would probably be better if you're not interested with fancy bells and whistles.

The model i got was a Roland R-09. It sounds great. It's what I use on all of my recordings posted here, no added effects. If you want, just listen to the song in my other thread and that would be about the quality you'd get without touching what you record

Cost me $180 with a 2 gig SD card included.

Guitar Center does not carry Zoom. It is strictly carried by Sam Ash. I think i said that Sam Ash carries them in my first post... Sorry! Should of been more clear about it :)

So League, I'm guessing you play metal? It sounds good recording distorted guitar then?

It sounds great. Take a listen at our demo www.myspace.com/metalantietam

All the songs and tracks are done on the recorder.

The song "I wont be back/Cadus" has the best quality.
