Hey everyone. I am looking at getting a tube amp to record with in my apartment. From my experiences with guitars and electronic gear regarding to analog and tube it seems that the 90's stuff always seems to be more solid.

I have a mid 90's fender pro jr. lined up for 275 (tweed) that is in good condition and is selling with the original blue Alnico speaker speaker and new JJ el84 tubes.

I was wondering if that would be a better choice then buying a new model. and if 275 is a good deal (it is 45 minutes away).

I am trying to get something soon I really appreciate the help.. Also any advice on a 1960's 30 watt Sears Silvertone 1481 Tube Amp in good condition for 200... thanks

That's a tough choice...

So as for the new fender vs. the 90's fender i think i would go new if i could get the same product for the price. I don't remember fender doing a lot of good stuff in the 90's but if it's a steal jump on it.

I had a buddy who had an old silvertone amp and he really liked it, but i've never seen one anywhere like the one he had. I've been hunting for one myself just not so old.

Have you looked at the epiphones valve line at all?

Best of luck

the epippy valves are pretty basic but check them out if you want tube tone in low volumes they run like 5 watt's.

I've got one of the mim 99 strats and it's a great guitar.

I ended up buying a fender blues jr. for 300.. I know it is 15 watts and probably a little too loud but I can always get something smaller and I need somethign for gigging anyway. Thanks for the help.
