there was an older guy, dont know if he is still alive, but he would grunt while playing. I cant remember his name, but I know he also used to leave performances if someone in the crowd would cough or get up, or if the temperature was too warm or cold, anyone know who I am thinking of?

One pianist come to mind and its Keith Jarrett. He was very demanding what comes to audience and was very intolerant to audience noises. I remember that he used to be very living when he performed and also used vocalization in his playing like many greatest Glenn, Oscar to mention couple...

Cheers

Oh, I thought it could be Glenn, but I never heard that he leave performances because of audience, I knew that they were very same kind of personalities with Jarrett, but always thought Jarrett little more tempered.

Glad you figured it out. Cheers
