Very nice for a SS amp. Killer sustain and the presets are nice. Still prefer the Fender and Marshall tube amps

I have a spider III 150 and a 120 and I love them both they are very good tone and very nice effects. I also have a Fender Deluex and I love that one too.

I have the Spider III 30
Amazing freakin' amps. For a 30 watt, it frickin' PACKS.
The only setting I hate is the "Metal" because the distortion is crap imo.
I'd also played this other Spider series (I dunno what kind it was) in the music store before I bought my Godin, that amp had a lot of freakin' settings and it sounded awesome.... too bad it is 1000 dollars : /

Not for high volumes. If you're going for one of the cheaper ones for practicing in your bedroom - then fine, they have a lot of presets and sound nice at lower volumes.

Just go drop a thread about Spiders over at UG and you'll get flamed for mentioning an amp with such a bad reputation (and I agree with whoever dislikes them... I have a Spider II that sounds horrible in a band setting).

You can get better for the price though if you do some research - even at practice amp level.

Eh, I love my amp it sounds pretty sweet.
And you're right I put my Spider 3 at high volume and it sucked, I also plugged it into a 100 watt amp and cranked it, still sucked. It actually was a lower volume.
I will probably look into new amps and pedals sometime after the holidays...

Personally, I wish I never bought mine... but a few years ago I was all "I needz teh MEtul AMPZZ!!!111" or something similar. My mate had one and I only heard it on low volume so I was like - I'll just get one of them.

Then I guess I just got better at determining good tone. Anyway, I'm after a new amp aswell, and a new guitar. And compression and EQ pedals. Probably look in January when I have money together, plus I have a gig I'd like to have everything ready by.
