Next Big Thang

Okay, I have to pay off a case for the ML I just bought [my mom is gonna buy it for me now cos' I'm gonna be using it a lot, but I'm going to pay her back]. But what next? As you all have probably gathered, I'm always looking for better gear and stuff. I'm kind of stuck between three currently.

dude if u like a pickup at around 12 or 13k, get the super distortion, its amazing, and a paf in the neck.

an amp, im guessing u play metal and stuff so i guess a randall.

i find a phaser more usefull.

If you noticed, the one I posted is Dimarzio's "Highest gain output" pickup. The neck in this guitar is awsome too though. Plus its the Dean Zebra pickup so it looks kickass. What Randall would you reccommend? I've always loved the look of them, and the sound too, from listening to Kirk Hammett and Dime.

well me personally id take a jcm800 over a randhall, but idk. also look at an orange and a peavey, theyr also kick ass, how much u looking to spend?

$550 MAYBE $600, but that'd only be for a Marshall or Randall. I sure as **** wouldn't pay that much for Peavey, Orange doesn't have enough capability to be worth it unless its a full stack.

I know. It only take like two and a half months though, and me and my dad mow until mid fall [We have a huge backyard so he takes the tractor and I push-mow] and come winter I'll shovel snow at my place and my Gram's.

how loud do you need?

i have to definety say, go for the pickup and if ur gonna change the neck pick up to go for the matching neck pickup to go with it. dont buy a phaser or chorus, theyre kinda dumb to me. but thats just my opinion. others may disagree.

@ Elliottoe - Small clubs. Bar sized places.

@ GMG - Actually, I think the pickups in this Dean are quite good. The bridge is definetly better than my LP.

at 600, id look for a jcm800 used a combo. i dont know much bout randhalls, id def look at a orange tiny terror combo, idk how much they are but im guessing not too much. other than tht idk, i like more rock amps then metla.

If you wait til later this year (like summertime), Peavey is releasing a 6505+ combo that is around $600. They r001 4 t3h m3t41z!

I'd get the amp I don't see the point in owning more than one electrics guitar.

@ GRX - Holy ***! Isn't the 6505 a left over from whenEVH went to Fender? If that thing is only $600 then DAMN!!!!

@ Pat - I do "Improve the user". Its just that the LP wasn't cutting it like I'd imagined. The ML has everything I need though.

well.. i need 2 electric guitars, one is restrung like for a leftie, the other one is normal.. you cant play the same on both, as i play both like righthanded, it gives you a new perspective when playin or composing. in a gig you wont have time to restring the guitar.. however, its just my case

If I remember correctly, EVH was at Peavey and he made the 5150 with them. When he left, Peavey was not allowed to keep using the 5150 name, so they changed it to the 6505 (which was named to commemorate Peavey's first 40 years, 1965 - 2005). So the 6505 is more or less the same amp as 5150...

I think I saw somewhere that it should be around $600. The MSRP is $719, but you can always find things for less than MSRP, since the company just slaps that on there so stores can sell it for less and brag about the money they're saving you. However it differs from the (more expensive) head because it is only 60~ watts, as opposed to 120. It also is a combo with only one 12 inch speaker, so that cuts down on the price as well.

I've also read something that they're making it overseas instead of US, which would cut down on costs. I'm not sure if this is true or not though.
