kk just bought a vintage dimarzio sup distortion, it comes bck with the wire like 12" long, im thinking this guys freaking scammed me b/c thts the length of a neck. i contacted him b4 i bought and he said was a bridge. so my question is, on the old sup distortions, whats the diff between neck and bridge. i mean the output on the thing is like 13, the norm outut of a bridge, im saying the neck is usually more bassy, not as trebly, less bright and more mucky, is it possible if this think is a neck to install it in a bridge and haave it sound like a bridge? i mean also i looked up about it and they say that the bridges are wired hotter is it possible to wire it to be a bridge?

mostly likely if it is a "neck pickup" and you wired it in the bridge position slot... you wouldn't notice a drastic change. a year ago at a george lynch clinic i bought a "steve vai Dimarzio Evolution" pickup and he looked at it and i said to him... "im sorry i didnt buy your pickup" George then said, "hey man, it doesn't matter. most of the time humbuckers sound the same. the really different is in your amp."
so i would say wire the "neck" as a "bridge". Dimarzio even says that its only recommended that you wire it in a certain position.. not that its mandatory.
