I want a new guitar, my requirements are that it has a floating trem, and that is has EMGs, but not the exact same set of EMGs that I already have on my Schecter c-1 Hellraiser.

The LTD has an EMG 81 in the bridge, which I have in my guitar, but a 60 in the next position. It also has an orignal floyd rose, not a licensed one.

The Schecter has 2 single coil EMGs, which I could get new sounds from, and an EMG 81-tw in the neck, which I could get the same sounds out of that I do now with my 81, but it is a coil tapped pickup. It has a gotoh-licensed floyd rose which should be a safe choice, probably not as safe as the original though.

Both are in my price range of around $1000 USD. I'll probably end up buying both but I wonder what should be the NEXT one.

So which is it?

I prefer the look and feel of the ESP so I reccomend that. Depends what you want to do with it though.

The Schecter man. VERY original in my opinion.

I'd go with the schecter, but since you already have a Schecter, it wouldn't be bad to expand your brands a bit. I don't think you can go wrong either way, but personally, I think the Schecter looks cooler.

Schecter all the way. I don't like the Les Paul look, and besides, that Schecter is mad eye candy. And in constructive argument with GRX40, if your familiar with the brand, then stay with the brand you know.

Go with the Schecter.

From other posts you've been very happy with Schecter and having the single coil might provide some dynamics to your tone.

I've herd mixed things about the ESP LTD's so h'm not sure what to think about them. But I've herd mixed things about epiphones too but I love mine.

I can't actually decide, they both look pretty nice. I'd have to get my hands on them to see which one I'd actually prefer.

Def. ESP. I dunno why I'm not a big Schecter fan. Then again I haven't played one since like 1999, or something crazy like that.

I played a schecter Omen and it was decent for the price. So Id have to Say the schecter because of the looks. The Esp is a les paul design Id say just get an epiphone instead,

Exactly. I've done my shopping. And I've played hundreds of candidates, (including an epiphone prophecy with floating trem and emgs) and it's down to these two.

Definetly the Schecter Les Pual models just don't look right with a tremolo arm

Thanks for the input guys, I ended up playing both guitars and just liked the ec-1000 better. I'm also replacing the hardware with gold hardware, and maybe the new GOLD plated EMGs?
