Hey everyone, what would you recommend for recording? Audio, then post it to my Myspace or video and upload it to Youtube? Personally I like video better because I can get better sound, idk.

I use Cubase, so i can master the sound, if I had a Mac, I'd use Logic Studio, but I'm not rich so Cubase is the next best thing. If you don't want to use that only other thing I've used is Audacity.

Reaper is good and shareware with a non-restrictive trial.

Sorry, I meant what should I use? Audio and post it to my Myspace or Video and post it from Youtube? Personally, I like video cos' I get less distortion and more gain.

I use a mixture of Logic Express and Cubase, recording through a firebox. Audacity is great for something simple and direct, but nothing complex.

For quality of sound, creating an audio file is best because you can add tracks and edit the tracks. however, you're saying that you don't get good sound when you record audio. (i'm not sure why).

is it possible to use the mic in your video cam when you record audio only? one other thing you can try is to record the video and then "strip" the audio from the file and then edit and master it in a program like audacity or cubase. then you could record multipe videos, strip the audio from the files and mix them. Otherwise I think you have answered your own question. since it's all about the music you should post the format (video) that sounds best. start saving up and purchase a good mic when you can.
