Im going to buy the boss me 50 soon but then i realise the power adapter doesnt even come with it so i have to pay an extra 20 which i dont really want to do. Surely you can buy cheaper and unofficial ones on ebay if so can someone give me a link to the item?

yes but i dont know what kind of adapter you need for it. I think i found out that its 9volt. SO does that mean any 9V power adapter will work?

You need to check the actual pedal, read what voltage it takes. If you've already bought it, read the instructions and it should tell you how much it should take.

Not always, most companies make adapters with very specific plug sizes so that you'll have to use the adapter they designed for the product. The only adapters that I know of that work with Boss products and aren't designed by Boss are the One Spot adapters. They are slightly less expensive than the standard boss adapter. Here's the address on musiciansfriend.com ($19.95, whereas the recommended Boss adapter is $23.95).

Usually I just buy the adapter that the manufacturer recommends, because incompatible adapters can ruin your electronics. I don't think you'll really find anything cheaper than the One Spot. People don't really make general or unofficial adapters.

depending on how many pedals you have, your best bet is to build your own power board. i bought a prefabbed Furman, but i just plug the pedals directly into the board, and let it power them all. i use a lot of boss pedals, and have had no problems.
