2. Distortion Pedal
3. Damn good recording gear.

Guitar - eh.
Pedal - Awsome
Recorder - nah.

For a recorder I was looking for more of a small, simple, but yet still has good sound quality.
And the guitar just isn't my thing. I'm looking for a cheap Dean or Jackson V.

Well, I was kinda searching for keys in the dark.

The recorder is small and very simple. I use Tascam often and I have no problems with their products.

I could run it by a friend of mine (A/V Tech, Enginer, etc) and see what he says.

Well, I wouldn't expect great quality with your specs. You're also probably not gonna find much for under $250. Trust me, the Tascam is a good investment.

I know that soundboards/mixers/a bunch of knobs look a bit intimidating, but they aren't all that hard to run.

This is similar to what I often run

The Tascam I suggested is small (a bit bigger than a laptop), and quite easy to manage.

But, since I doubt you will budge, I've found this:http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fostex-MR-8mkII-8-Track-Digital-Recorder-103729851-i1125873.gc

About the best quality for the price that I could find.

My plan.

I'll try and convince the parents that this will be one of VERY FEW gifts I get this year. Any other ideas? I can't [Legally] have a job until I'm fourteen so thats a BIG disadvantage....Government Bast-ards

Just be patient, and appreciative.

I don't ask for anything because I don't feel that it's in my place to. If my parents feel that I deserve something, or want to give me something nice, I appreciate it. I don't have the best equipment in the world, but I love it just as well, and I'm very thankful for it.

I don't think convincing them is the best way to go about it.

Also, take into consideration how much they work to pay for this stuff that you want - not need. Personally, I'm not fond of kids asking their parents for $500 gifts.

What IS the way to go then? I only get $10 for mowing the lawn and theres only two or three more mows left until spring [our backyard is f'n huge so $10 is definetly not spoiling man]. I guess I'll mow like hell and then shovel a lot and try to half it, cuz maybe I can make $100 outta that and cut it down to three hundred then.

Again, you fail to understand my words. Don't act appreciative, BE appreciative.

There are many people who struggle just to get their ends, and can barely afford the basics. I used to be one of them. I know how blessed I am, and I try to always show my gratitude and appreciatian.

Sucking up and doing things that you should already do WITHOUT reward is NOT the way you show appreciatian.

Hell, if you've got food on the table, clothes on your back, and a roof over your head, you're blessed.

Good. Now accept the fact that your father isn't excited about spending $400 (on the guitar alone) and just let it go.

Good things come to those who wait.

1. Schecter Omen 6: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Schecter-Omen-6-Electric-Guitar-101262830-i1149925.gc

2. You like metal right? If so, http://www.guitarcenter.com/Electro-Harmonix-XO-Metal-Muff-with-Top-Boost-Distortion-Guitar-Effects-Pedal-103840526-i1165447.gc

S'got lots o' gain!

3. Not sure on recorders. DigiDesign MBox is supposed to be good though. I think the MBox Mini is around $300.

Ozzfan, the Ibanez is cool. The RG Series has really thin necks that are good to shred on. I think you'll like it.

But also, try out some Schecters, Jacksons, and LTDs if you can.

That's one reason why I love Ibanez - They've got thin and fast necks.

yea id like to play an Ibanez, but im not really into the standard shape, i used to play my dads strat, the top dug into my chest, it was heavy, and just uncomfortable for me. so i much prefer the Rhoads shape. i also found that the BC Rich Bich is extremely comfortable

Eh, I don't like BC Rich as a brand really. Not quite as versatile as it could be. I am okay with the Strat shape probably just because it was what I learned all my basics on ya know?

Me too dude, can't though. I think I'll do okay with this Ibanez once I get a feel for where it has good natural harmonics. Once I do that I really won't need the Floyd Rose.
