hi, i just got a dod overdrive and a mxr disotirton + both vintage. they are great pedals but together they make this HORRIBLE hum/hiss like very loud i have the config like this, is it wrong?

guitar->crybaby wah->mxr distortion+->dod overdrive->amp

how should i have it? when i hit one its fine but both make this horrible hiss, its not my amp ive tryed it on many diff amps.

Try putting the mxr,crybaby,and dod, in different positions, like have the dod first the mxr, then crybaby and keep trying new combinations.

no, u have the wah before distortion, i know tht, i did try putting the mxr after the dod, it worked, so the combo should be

getah->wah->dod->mxr->amp?

what if i buy a eq pedal whrere does that go?

you dont HAVE to put the wah before the dist. my friend uses it after and his sounds pretty amazing plus he has same wah as you.

I think you may have a bunk cable.

I had the same thing with a patch cable from my mixer to the computer and the right channel was humming and the signal was weak. Once i replaced the cable the problem went away.

Is the little ring around your guitar's plug jack loose? if so it might be making the cable wiggle and cause problems. Check and if it is tighten it up.

Huh, thats wierd. You ****in' up boy!? lol j/k.
Try turning the gain down on the amp and switching to the pickup select that doesn't buzz as much. Then hit the pedals and see what happens.

EQ is like bass, mids, treble, etc. It just lets you tweak the frequencies of your tone.

Honestly, I don't think an EQ pedal will cut hiss/hum at all; in fact, it will probably add more if you get a cheap one. Maybe look into a Noise Gate/Noise Reducer if it's really bad hiss.
