If money wasn't a factor what kind of setup would you play? I would have a:

Gibson les paul

Marshall jvm410c

I would also have a good tube preamp, wah pedal, delay, noise gate, and a few other pedals.

You make me think of the song "No Limit" from Dance Mix '95

I would first buy all the programs and books that I want, ontop of a decent place with my own top notch studio and booth.

THEN I would buy...

Acoustic Luna Dragon £300

Kawai EX Grand Piano - £24,290

Vintage Harp Guitar £5,800

Yamaha YAS82Z custom alto saxophone £1,545

Violin - £5,500

Zakir Hussain's Tabla £50

Guitars:
Gibson ES 355:

PRS Custom 24:

Fender Strat:

Amps:
Fender Deluxe Reverb:

Orange Rocker 30 (with a Leslie rotary cabinet):

Effects:
Peterson Strobostomp Tuner
Budda BudWah (already have it :D)
Ibanez TubeScreamer (already have it :D)
some kind of phaser and delay, but not sure which type.
An A/B box, to switch amps

Ideally, my chain will go:

Guitar->Tuner -> Wah -> TS -> Phase -> Delay -> A/B -- Fender/Orange

All these will be kept in a soundproof room with perfect acoustics, patrolled by guards 24/7. :D

Custom 1957 Les Paul, 3 pick-ups, Bigsby.

I don't know what I'd get for an amp specifically, but it would probably end up being a Marshall.

If so, then your dad has a nice amp! :P

I've actually changed my mind, so instead of having two amps, I would just get 1 Mesa Express 5:25. I just played one at the Guitar Center and it was awesome. It could do anything from blues to metal!

So I guess I would go a different direction. I have more fun composing and arranging than playing really loud or in public. So I think i would go with this stuff first then move on to the guitars and amps.
