Ibanez

PRS Custom

PRS SingleCut

Fender Strat

Also, as kind of a warning, guitar prices in Europe are generally more expensive than those in the US. Like those PRS are $600 in the US, but most UK stores (like the one I linked to) sell them for almost $800. So you can't always do a straight conversion from a US price to a UK price.

GRX thats a good point, may ship it from america but it really depends if i trust shipping and whether it will come out more expensive or what have you and would have to wait that little extra time. and what can i say all these look awsome.

has anyone had experience with a epiphone lesbian(my way of saying les paul) custom or zakk wylde? its sort of enticing me

You'll be able to pick up a new, top of the range Epi Les Paul for slightly more than £400 so it might be worth saving a little longer.
A t.o.t.r Epi is in my experience, easily the equal of a Les Paul Studio.

They've gone down in price. Take a look!

epiphone's don't have as much magic as gibson's. a real gibson guitar has lots and lots of magic - they put it there in the manufactory. the more money you pay, the more magic they put into it. it's a fact.

that's why i am going to shed myself of epiphones and squiers for good, and buy a gibson SG-3. you would do well to do the same; even if you don't believe me about the magic, you will eventually.

consider making that 400 grow to about 2000, and get a real gibson, chock full of magic.

no, because they put magic into them.

a epiphone and gibson les paul may seem similar; one might be tempted to say the same. but once one plays both, it's only a matter of time before you realize that there is simply magic in the gibson the epi does not have.

they're just so much smoother and nicer and better sounding, but it's the magic; the superior pickups, sturdier construction, thinner paint, higher grade wood, superior furniture, superior electronics and wiring, supremely superior fretwork and neck and finger board are all nice. but what it comes down to, is gibsons are magical, and they're worth every penny.

Only reason I would buy a Gibson is because of the name. Personally, I would just put some bad freakin pickups in an Epiphone and be done with it.

Note: This is coming from someone who plays Alembic's.

you really ought to get to know a gibson guitar for a while.

You really ought to get to know an Alembic Guitar or Bass for a while.

Here are the Alembic's I've played

(Same thing, but I play a 6 string version)

(One I play has a gold quilt like finish)

he is right, epis are quite stupid (exception "epi only" hallow bodies), go gibson. And all guitars are over priced no matter what type. it's the nature of supply and demand. trust me and save your money for a good standard gibson or if you have the ability get a custom. skip the epi and no way in hell get a squiers (unless frist guitar or have no money at all) and don't believe what people say that gibson is just a named i have played customs and holy hell.

p.s. who ever said buying anything for a named is a corporate asshat and should stop and think before feeding the hand that's killing you

Sixtiesguy is absolutely right about high end Epiphones ang Gibson Studios. You'll not tell the difference in sound, build quality or playability. I've had both!

The Gibsons that 'bandilegs' are ejaculating over are way above your £400 ceiling, the descent SG's are roughly the same price as an LP Studio.

Oh, and just by the way, LP Studios are shit!

studio les pauls seem to be sort of below standards. however, saying that they are every bit as good as a epi is... absurd.

a les paul classic or traditional, is out of this world.

a epiphone will play, yes. it won't sound that bad, it'll stay in tune, but ask yourself: do you want ANOTHER guitar that just barely cuts it, or do you want a guitar that you will fall in love with, and give to your children in 40 years? a guitar that you know would serve you well - even up to when you find yourself playing for 30,000 people.

and yeah, those alembics look awful...

You people are so freakin' blind.

You will go absolutely bananas over some putrid looking esp or whatever, but no, it's the ALEMBICS that are ugly!

Even if they were the ugliest guitars in the world, their tone more than makes up for it.

Now, I'm not a fan of the body of the 4 string Alembic I play, but it's still epic. The Skylark is by far much better looking than any ESP, Dean, Warwick, Fender, and pretty well any other guitar ever made. Actually, considering how much you guys bend over for Schecter and what not, I would think you would like The Skylark.

There's a Skylark like the one I play (same color, everything)

Only thing I really don't like about it is the inlays.

Yeah, I guess Doc (the guy who owns the Alembics I play) was looking for tone more than anything when he bought that Sig Deluxe.

Those are the actual instruments I use.

Note: Now that I look at it, Doc's 4 string isn't the Sig Deluxe, it's a Series I (or II, not sure).

That's exactly what I have jcb3000. The color is much darker in person, I assume that picture was taken under quite bright and even lighting. It's right next to me and is a navy blue, approaching black. However, when you move and can see the interplay between light, finish, and wood flame, it is like looking off of a boat into the open ocean. Insanely beautiful. It also doesn't hurt that it's the best playing guitar I've ever handled. I once played with a band on a kind of no notice basis. Their guitarist just handed me a Strat and I almost cried at how hard it was to play after handling my Schecter so much. It felt like the neck was coated in sandpaper or something. I did get used to it, but warming up sucked :(

as i said, those alembics are ugly. all out of proportion. awful inlays, the head is too big, the colors are all nauseating...

not like a simple, elegant SG-3, with black finish and gold hardware, and a warm, fat, sweet tone that has amazing depth and power.

the basics are best.

i wear black for all the people that have it worse then me... i play black guitars because they match my outfit.

actually, i wear wife beaters and old jeans because i can't afford nice clothes. and i don't have a SG-3, i just fantasize about having one and banging it, and then get into serious discussions with myself about whether i would screw it if it had a hole, because that might be taking it's innocence. then i starve myself, because i'm not the best guitarist in the world, so i don't deserve food, much less a SG-3.

but if i could, i would wear a black long sleeve 2 pocket button up shirt with a pair of black jeans, and carry around my black with gold metal SG-3 all the time, and a pair of aviator sunglasses, like mr. thompson. and combat boots. and maybe a copy of the shirt the late hero mr. McVeigh was wearing when he made his attack against organized crime.
