Peavey XXX

So does anyone have one? Im buying one tommorow. That and the cab, the cab is a marshall 1960a 4x12 with the origanl speakers switched with EVH spec'd Peavey Sheffield EVH 5150. The people next door are going to hate me!!!

lol, u buying it just for practicing or gigging? i was thinking of a jcm800 head and cab but thought it was too loud.

I tried it out. I actually had it down to either the 6505 plus half stack or the XXX half stack. Both are killer amps. You really can't go wrong with any of them. I just happened to prefer the 6505 plus, it's all personal preference.

The fact that the original speakers in your marshall cab were scrapped for some sheffields breaks my heart to hear. Celestions v30's are absolutely perfect for that head. It'll still sound pretty damn good though.

@EMB JCM800 head and cab is a killer set up, but if you're not gigging then yeah, it's probably way too loud.

Im not even gigging.... but this deal is too good to pass up. I plan on joining a band but I only had a little practice amp. Now there is nothin holding me back. Im getting it tonight so Ill let ya's know how she sounds.

what details? the 1k for the amp? my teach said it, he even said hell throw in a distortion pedal, hes the 2nd owner, tubes havent been replaced in years but its never played. how much do new tubes cost and how long do they last?
