when learning scales, i found it easyer to learn the shape or pattern first and then going back to starting and finshing on the root after i get the pattern down
i was woundering if that seems f-ed up or is it ok, must be ok cuz i seem to learn that way {imo}

i just memorized the 5 positions of the major scale, remember where the root not of that shape is, and then i have every major, minor, and mode scale memorized by default. melodic and harmonic minor have to be done on their own. and the minor pentatonics, but those are super easy.

Your learning fine, I've got a lesson on scales which has just been approved. You can check that out and that should hopefully be helpful to you.
