check out my bands page. we're called the coolest cats you know.
the band consists of a friend of mine and myself.

musically our songs are lacking, but we try to make up for it with humor. however, since ive gotten more serious about guitar lately and actually learned how to properly record it, i'm sure that the music we make after this will be better and more professional.

this... is awful...

those aren't even really songs... just backing tracks to bad, not funny, not good lyrics. i mean, seriously, come on here. the time you spent putting that SHIT onto the internet could've been spent becoming a better musician. almost anyone could go onstage, knowing no song, and just completely BS and fake their way through a better song then those on that page. i'm not sorry at all if this hurts your feelings. become a better artist, or for the sake of art, stop making art.

i mean, christ, you don't even have some bullshit excuse like some half assed punk band about how they're expressing their feelings.

I agree with Tele and EMB.

You don't to be an arsehole everywhere you go, Baudelaire.

As tele said,
"You have to start somewhere, and marrguitar is at least putting him self out there and letting people hear him."

thanks baudelaire. im glad you enjoyed our music.

And since i got such a warm response from you guys here i thought i might as well post some more of my stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/user/nirvana778

thats my youtube channel, which has some music of mine on it. mostly it just has videos and short films, though. i think my artistic abilities are better expressed there than on my bands page, obviously.

I have to agree Baudelaire's just being ignorent. I can easily say they're just being childish and while I'm a 15-year-old school girl, and also completely agree with Empirism.

I think this is a owrthwhile startfor you and your band, after all it's way better then just sitting on the PC insulting those who are actually doing something to get better and enjoy themselves.

Agreed,
Mr. Belvedere you were way out of line. You have all the charm of a social disease!
Critique is good, insults are unacceptable.
You owe the band an apology.

what i owe them is a envelope delivered to their door, containing a bill for the damage that that music has done to me. it was so bad i feel physically harmed. and i hope it hurt his feelings, so he goes and practices out of anger and someday will be a good musician. i hope he says, 'fuck that asshole' and goes to study and learn how not to suck.

@Guitar boy,
I don't think it matters if Beetlejuice can play or not. He might be the greatest musician on the planet. The question is if "negative reinforcement" works. It might work for some and not for others. But he goes beyond that and into personal insults, and that is wrong IMO.
This is mostly a forum for beginners and we all need to improve (I know I do). Feedback is one thing, telling someone their stuff is shit is wrong.

And feedback like "almost anyone could go onstage, knowing no song, and just completely BS and fake their way through a better song then those on that page" and stuff like that dont give any answers, only insults.

If I listen to something that I dont like, I dont give negative feedback before I feel I have answers how it would improve. But I believe for kindness rather than anger, sadly too many do not have empathy.

@Phip,
You make a good point. And it is wrong to insult people. Especially when you don't even know them.
I am still a beginner, I consider myself a beginner though I've been playing for almost 3 years. I go to places like this to get feedback on my playing, and to learn.

@Emp
Same here. I don't mind giving negative feedback (as long as I am being nice about it) because I can take negative feedback. I know what to do to improve, etc. But when people give feedback like oh you suck don't even bother trying to improve... That's not helpful. It's just being a d-bag.

Example of constructive criticism

@ baudelaire:-

Have you considered moving to U.G ? I think you'll find many friends there.

ouch the U.G card. can really feel the hate, guess all is deserved though from reading previos posts btw marr, liking it, keep it going and keep working on the recording till you get it perfect, then itll be awsome!

no one was really into brit pop yet they seemed to compliment my band so learn to be less intolerent baud and more constructive with your posts, that way you may actually help some people instead being victim to your verbal diarrhoea

Had a listen last night, pretty good, more..structural work would be nice =] But I did enjoy listening to them they beat my recordings =D Lyrics and vocals were nicely done but the guitar..I'd suggest fiddling with the EQ on the amp/lower the gain somewhat or try a new mic .-.

Liking what I'm hearing though =] Keep it going mate.

the music isn't all that bad. it takes alot of balls to be original.
for some reason those songs remind me of Frank Zappa.
