;D... well for these? Since I really like Metallica...but, Carlos Santana's music is affected for 2 generation of musicians and music lovers...now on maybe 3 :) and he still pushing the limits and find new ways to music.

Like Black magic woman (even it was an cover from fleetwood mac) was source of inspiration to me and many others in late 70' is Smooth source of inspiration to our time youngsters. Carlos Santana is more than a guitar virtuoso, he is a living legend.

Quote from Santana "I dont play music, its only go through me"

Neither, I'm inspired by Soungarden, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, and more.
As long as I like them then they inspire me usually

Jeez, this should be (and was) a thread, this shouldn't be a poll. People's inspirations are going to be too diverse to catagorise.

It's strange because the way it's worded in the poll, with Randy Rhoads in between Allen Collins and Skynyrd, makes it sound like Randy Rhoads was part of Skynyrd.

Anyway, my biggest inspirations are Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, and Eddie Hazel (of Funkadelic).

I think I take bits and pieces from every band I listen to. I pull mostly from early 90's alternative with some delta blues and 70's rock. Biggest contributions to my sound would be Sublime, Counting Crows, DMB, Pearl Jam, and OAR.

a big part of my inspiration comes from my dad. he's taught me alot of what he knows about guitars and performing. in my opinion hes very good at his little 'gigs' which he does now and again. alot some comes from dave murray of iron maiden. absolutly insane guitarist!

I put Conor Oberst and Elliott Smith. but honestly almost all of the above have inspired me one way or another

and just wondering, why did someone put "John Lennon/George Harrison" and not put Paul McCartney?
