So I've decided to sell off my strat and telecaster. Any ways I found 2 guitars on craigs list that I'm looking at.

One is a Epiphone Sheraton II that needs a little work. Nothing major but the gold hardware is starting to turn and the pickup braces are partially broken. There was a midi pickup installed at one time so there are some small screw hols. the guy also installed a master volume on the guitar in one of the F holes (not sure why) (I would have to sell one of my guitars before I could really deal)

The other guitar is an epiphone Dot with a hard case. I'm not sure what other info but the guy is willing to trade my tele.

I may try and meet up with both of these guys later today.

I would say go for the Dot if you don't want to waste time putting work and money into it. If you can do it all yourself, I would say go for the Sheraton, since I think it's supposed to be nicer.

Plus, you don't know if he fooked up the wiring or anything when he tried to put in the master volume or the midi pickup in the Sheraton.

Yeah i was leaning toward the dot, since i could do an even trade and it comes with a case. I was looking at getting a new dot a while back.

The Sheraton is a nicer guitar but this one i think has had some damage to it, it makes me nervous. We'll see what the dot is like.

Having someone do that much work on any guitar would make me nervous. I would probably go with the dot, unless you're sure you can trust the guy's work.

Well I trust my work :).

The electronics in a guiatr are easy to figure out, wood makes me nervous like warped necks and cracks.

I was going to sell both my tele and start and get the PRS hollow but part of me also wants to keep the strat and get a dot.

I'm meeting up with the guy with the dot tomorrow. I've add some pic's of the dot in red and the sheriton in black

Gez, if I sell my tele maybe I should change my avator name to dotacrater that reminds me of zits.

i'd steer clear of any guitar that has any holes drilled into it.
craigslist can be a goldmine, but it's primarily a dumping ground.

there is 1 rule i follow on craigslist. if you can't resell it to get
the amount you paid for it,then don't buy it.

Yeah I do like Craigslist better than ebay less shipping and you feel like your dealing with a real person.

dots are absolutely gorgeous to play, my friend got one exactly like that from GAK. It plays like a beauty. not sure about the sheriton but personally i'd go for the one with least hassle.

How much is he selling it for? For $600, you could get a Casino at GC. I'm sure you could even find one on Craigslist or eBay for less, too.

around $300. the black sheritorn is at $315 and the red dot would be an even trade for my tele, which i'm asking $300 for.

The Casino have those P90 single coil pickups I want it to have buckers!

That leaves the sheriton II or the dot at the under $600 price range.

I would go with the Sheraton, and just replace the parts. Plus, with the drill holes, you have a pre-determined place to put in a killswitch, or pretty much anything.

I see that in the picture of the Sheraton that the pickups are different colors, so maybe the guy replaced them? If so, then maybe you could get the Sheraton if it has nicer pickups.

I'm going to meet up with the guy with the Dot tomorrow and check it out. I think I'll be taking it home unless it's complete junk

I'm felling religious so I think it's "God's Will" that I have both of them. I wonder If I can sell that the the wife? I have not gotten a new guitar in years and now I'm thinking of 2 in one week.

So I am a proud new owner of an Epiphone Dot!!!

I has some wear in the usual places but it palys like a champ. The action is real light and plays so easy. I love the tone too.

I'll add pics tonight. Man what a great guitar.
