Yeah that's pretty much impossible. My memory of the songs that "pulled" me into music were probably Up on the Roof by the Drifters and Stagerlee by Lloyd Price. I can remember hearing those songs when i got my first radio (had to clip it to the windowsill to get reception) That's my first recollection and i was completely hooked with She Love You by the Beatles.

I always have a hard time picking favorite songs. I've been listening to "Rivendell" by Rush recently, and that could be a contender. However, on the whole, I don't think I'll ever be able to pick a favorite song.

right now I dig Are You Dead Yet? by Children of Bodom alot, and I want to be able to enjoy I Want You To Want me again

I'm going to go ahead and define my favorite song as one that I can't stop listening to on my iPod. Right now it's a tie between "(Late Night At The) Maple Leaf" by the Stanton Moore Trio, and "Broken Heart Song" by The Billy Lee Janey Band. "Thank You For The Sunshine", also by The Billy Lee Janey Band is right up there.

Billy Lee Janey is my guitar teacher, and he's getting to be a pretty big name in Iowa. If you get the chance, check out his newest album, "What's Your Trick". He blends Hard Rock, Blues, and Funk really nicely.

"joe". Take it your obviously a libertines fan which is great, becuase not many people have the same taste as me on here. Intresting choice regarding "the man who would be king" so many libertines songs would be in my favourate list, like Music when the lights go out, Time for heroes, Dont look back into the sun, and What became of the Likely lads.

Yeah ive also love Babyshambles and ive seen them live, very similir but less rocky on the whole. Fuck fovever and delievery are great songs. Dont forget Albion and Kilamangiro which also deserve a mention.

pete doherty is pretty damn good tbh even despite his problems.

Pete is a legend for his musical talent anyway. I saw them in Nottingham, thats where in live in england. Best band ive seen live, havent been to many but they put on a very good show!

what other stuff you into?

erm, well as i said, very much into Kings of Leon and The strokes, aside from tem i would say Artic Monkeys, Oasis my all favourates dirty pretty thing (yet another libertines conection lol), There the ones that stand out. I love just about every band in this kind of genre to be honest for example, you may not be too aware of them but i really like the coral for their aquistic songs and makes after listening to rock/punk, i like kasabian and the cribs if you havent heard there stuff there quite punky, particularly the first 2 albums.

She's Electric - Oasis

oh yeah the dirty pretty things are slick. might be seeing them at T4 if im not working, altho i think i am :(. tired of england is a great song. i know most of them but ill have a listen to some of the cribs stuff. any good songs to look out for? i quite like the smiths and some of morrisseys stuff too.

Yeah i like smiths and morrisey. Probably prefer morrissey solo stuff but both have some great tunes.

If you were wanting to get into the cribs, i would say listen out for Mirrir Kisses, for a really punky song, Mens Needs for a amazing riff, and Im a realist which is a great song, that will get you started with them. Not guarenteeing you will like them though.

No, Oasis is very obscure here. However, the fans they have here are EXTREMELY loyal. The reason being that we don't have good music here anymore.

Not saying you will like them, but they might be worth a look from your point of view. Massive here in england, fairly small in USA. They have been headlining Glastonbury and others this year.

Nice one Joe, really glad you like it, deserve more attention then they get, as i beieve there one of the better bands out there at the moment.
